Assault 1/1, street, 540 Main St. Male in-house with blood on his face, notified the Duty Officer that disgruntled passenger, after paying him (the taxi driver/victim), had struck him with a glass bottle under the right eye; the passenger complained he had been overcharged by taxi driver (US$18.) The perp then fled. NYPD/EMS requested, and responded. Officers searched Eastwood, 4th to 7th levels with negative results. NYPD prepared report, EMS transported victim to Mt. Sinai. Trespass 1/5, hallway, 580 Main St. Arrest. RIHM super radioed PSD to report male sleeping in front of apt. #164. Officers responded, awoke male non-resident, whose breath had a strong odor of alcohol and who was unaware of his surroundings. Perp was escorted to PSD, issued a "C" summons. RIHM was notified. Criminal Mischief 1/4, west seawall, 545 Main St. Officer responded to report of broken windows, found five of them at scene, that had been caused by unknown person(s). Officer spoke with Ms. Jones of Blackwell Housing. The latter stated she had seen windows in good order on 1/3, and saw them broken on 1/4. Officer searched area for other property damage with negative results. 1/5, seating area, 564 Main St. A very loud booming sound was heard on Main St. After investigating it was determined a small M-80 explosive had been used to shatter glass panel at seating area of St. Frances Cabrini church. Anonymous witness said he had seen two young males running from scene. Officers searched area with negative results. RIHM service man removed glass from area, covered panel with "caution" tape. Several officers searched area with negative results. NYPD responded, prepared report. Church was closed. 1/8, Motorgate, 5-A, 688 Main St. Officer on patrol noticed a vehicle's rear passenger window had been shattered; notified Duty Officer It is not known if any property was taken, Motorgate attendant notified. Disorderly Conduct 1/3, RIOC bus #3, 300 Main St. RIOC bus driver radioed PSD, stated he was driving bus #3, parked same at Tram bus stop, closed doors to use facilities. Male started to yell at reporter for having him wait. Upon driver's return, male started to berate him. Bus driver contacted PSD, male left before PSD's arrival. Officers searched east seawall, west seawall, and Main St. for him, with negative results. Harassment 1/10, apt., 560 Main St. Female phoned PSD, requesting assistance. Officers responded, female stated her ex-boyfriend had assaulted her approximately one week ago. She contacted 911, but hung up, because male was threatening her life. Since that event occurred, male repeatedly phones her. Victim contacted NYPD, but refused EMS. NYPD prepared report. Fire 1/1, Island House courtyard, 555 Main St. Concierge of Island House phoned PSD, reported there was a small rubbish fire at scene. Officers responded with extinguishers and put it out. 1/1, trash can, 501 Main St. Officers responded to trash can fire at scene, which they extinguished. 1/9, apt., 560 Main St. Female phoned PSD, notified Duty Officer the kitchen heater was on fire. Officers responded, fire had been extinguished by RIHM serviceman. There were no injuries nor damage to apt. Child abuse inv./removal 1/14, apt., 580 Main St. Officers responded to apt. for calls for help/hostage situation. Upon arrival, male adult was interviewed by two Sgts., job down-graded to dispute/investigation. Upon canvassing apt. for other occupants officers saw a male adult (non-resident), and two-year old boy, sleeping in a dirty bed (boy was alone in the bed.) Upon examining child, officers noticed he had three burns on left knuckle and two other fingers without bandages, or medicine on any of them. Upon being asked what had occurred, the boy replied his mother had done it, which he repeated several times in front of NYPD and EMS. Male stated he did not have knowledge of that matter. Sgts. asked the male when he had fed the boy, he stated at 10:00 a.m. he fed him a sandwich. NYPD conducted a brief search of apt. Administration for Children's Services was contacted, EMS transported child to Elmhurst Hospital, accompanied by NYPD officer. UPDATED INFORMATION: ACS Child Protective Specialist (Ms. S. Smalls) arrived at PSD, stated she had been with boy's family in the Bronx, and was escorted to the apt. to inspect / photograph deplorable conditions of same. Dispute 1/7, new bldg. turnaround, 475 Main St. Anonymous female in-house, reported a physical dispute at scene. Officers responded, but the male perp had left scene. Two youths were stopped on way to subway and questioned by officers, one youth was bleeding. NYPD, EMS were called, as well as youths' parents. Other youth said he was all right. Both sets of parents refused NYPD and EMS. Officers made a thorough search of area with negative results. Youth Officer Williams informed of matter. Domestic Dispute 1 /2, apt., 560 Main St. NYPD Arrest. Officer responded to scene with NYPD 114th Pct. for report of dispute with knife. Upon officers' arrival, victim stated brother threatened her with knife. NYPD prepared report, placed perp under arrest. There were no injuries. 1/10, apt., 560 Main St. Anonymous female phoned PSD, notified Duty Officer that apparently there was a dispute going on in neighbor's apt. Officers responded, female answered, but would not open door; 911 was notified. NYPD responded, spoke with female resident, who stated everything was all right. 1/2, apt., 540 Main St. Anonymous person phoned PSD. Officers responded and spoke with male youth's mother who stated she and son were having a dispute, but there were no injuries to either one. NYPD responded, prepared Domestic Child Report. Forcible Touching 1/10, apt., 625 Main St. Arrest by NYPD. Male in-house, reported an unk. male had knocked on his door at 2:30 a.m., threatened him and fled. Officer recognized male, as having a NYPD open warrant out for complainant. NYPD, 114th Pct. Detective was notified, who requested assistance to pick up the male. PSD officers responded to male's address, held him for Detective, who arrested male at PSD. The latter's apt. was secured and apt's. keys returned to perp. Found Property 1/6, street, adj. 543 Main St. Anonymous male stated he was walking on Main St. and had found a G-E radio, which was secured at PSD. 1/11, Red Bus, Main Street. Female in-house, said she had found a silver color metal bracelet with black stones in one of RIOC's red buses, number unknown. Reporter stated she did not know which operator was driving. 11/12, Red Bus, 300 Main St. Officer responded to Tram, bus #8 operator drove up, stated female had given him a wallet containing bank card, Amex credit card, found in bus. Sgt. phoned bank, employee said they would contact owner. Property secured at PSD. Gas Leak 1/8, apt., 560 Main St. Officers responded to scene for gas smell, upon arrival they confirmed there was a strong smell of gas, and it was coming from Apt. 1308. Officers rang bell several times with negative results. RIHM super was called, ordered officers to evacuate residents of floor. RIHM super and personnel arrived, but could not gain entry into apt., and requested FDNY. FDNY gained entry, found female victim on floor, semi- conscious. Two burners were turned on allowing gas to flow. FDNY shut off the gas. EMS arrived, treated victim at scene. NYPD responded, female (in state of depression) was transported to Elmhurst Hospital. Super installed new locks, secured apt. Later, victim in-house, bleeding from head, stated she had left hospital of her own volition. EMS once more transported her to hospital. 1/10, apt., 510 Main St. Officer responded to scene with RIHM super to investigate gas odor. Said condition was found at apt., resident of which was not at home. Non-RIHM locks had to be removed, and condition corrected. Upon resident's return he was informed of what had occurred. There was no damage, nor injuries. Hazardous Condition 1/9, Motorgate, rear, 688 Main St. Per Sgt's. notification, officer investigated, and found that the rear north side stairwell was entirely dark from 8th level to lower level. Motorgate attendant was notified. 1/12, front of subway, 400 Main St. Sgt. observed pothole at scene (south-bound lane). Hole was 6" deep/30" x 50". Officer left message for RIOC engineer, notified C. Baker. Area cordoned off. C. Baker stated it would be covered or re-paved on 1/13. Investigation 1/2, lobby, 4 River Rd. Female in-house, stated that in Nov. 2004, another female had threatened her over a family dispute. Victim was advised to remain for NYPD's arrival, she refused, and stated she would contact them directly. Complainant left PSD. 1/6, west seawall, 30 River Rd. Concierge phoned PSD, reported male had been seen standing on fence looking towards building/into tenants' windows. Officers responded to area. Reporter could not provide them with any other information, other that it was a male. Officers searched area, Concierge to notify Manhattan Park Mgr. 1/10, apt. front door, 546 Main St. Female phoned PSD, stated an unknown male was banging on her apt. door. When officer arrived no one was in hallway. Search of Eastwood's 4th to 7th floors was conducted with negative results. NYPD refused. 1/13, Motorgate, 5-B, 688 Main St. Motorgate manager phoned PSD, reported vehicle was removed from garage without permission, he saw vehicle on 1/11. Officers searched area with negative results (the Lexus had a boot on it,) 911 was called, NYPD responded, officer stated complainant had to make a report directly to NYPD, because of financial situation. 1/13, stairwell K-3, 546 Main St. Officers responded to scene for report of group of youths in stairwell. Upon arrival, male reporter stated he was disposing of trash in AVAC, when he heard noise in stairwell, opened door to investigate when an unknown youth dropped halogen lamp from above which nearly struck him. Officers searched entire K stairway area with negative results. RIHM service was requested to clean glass. Lost Child 1/15/4, bus stop, Queens Park, 21st St., off-Island. Bus driver of Q-102 bus in-house, stated underage male youth had walked into the bus, stated he was lost. Youth said he resided in Brooklyn and was lost, told Sgt. his father's name, who stated he was taking a taxi to PSD pick up his son. The father refused medical attention for youth. Missing Property 1/8, apt., 40 River Rd. Female in-house, reported US$260.00 was missing from bag inside a bureau drawer. Officer responded to apt., found no signs of forced entry on doors or windows. Manhattan Park Mgr. was notified by concierge. Complainant contacted PSD after NYPD had left scene, NYPD did not prepare report for lack of evidence. Order of Protection 1/10, apt., 540 Main St. Female in-house, informed Duty Officer she had Order of Protection against male; she had had him removed from apt. Officers responded to scene and removed perp, advising him he could not return the apt. per an Order of Protection. RIHM serviceman changed locks. Runaways 1/9, group home, 40 River Rd. NYPD officer in-house, notified PSD that two underage females had run away from group home and had last been seen on Saturday afternoon. A counselor notified NYPD. PSD officers made an Island-wide search for youths with negative results. 1/12, apt., 560 Main St.; returned. Mother of runaway (IR #04-1294, 12/16/04) in-house, notified Youth Officer her daughter had returned home. Latter had been picked up by NYPD officer in 9th Pct. in lower Manhattan. The mother brought daughter home from there. Director, Deputy, Lt., Sgts. notified. Smoke Condition 1/5, subway, 400 Main St., off-Island. While patrolling, officer observed numerous fire engines responding to subway station, notified PSD. FDNY fireman reported there was a track fire . Sgt. and officer remained at scene to direct traffic/pedestrian traffic. FDNY Lt. advised condition was unfounded. 1/7, apt., 546 Main St. Officer reported to scene for smoke alarm. Resident had burned food. There was no damage nor injuries. 1/15, apt., 540 Main St. Resident informed officer of smoke condition in the apt. Officers responded to scene with water extinguisher. Resident had burned food. Officers advised her to open windows to clear smoke from apt., and RIHM super opened hallway windows. Unsecured Premises 1/6, rear emergency exit, 591 Main St. RIOC engineer phoned PSD, reported he had inadvertently left door open and he would not return to secure it. Officers responded to scene, re-secured door, C. Baker notified and locked door. 1/11, mailbox, 510 Main St. Anonymous person phoned PSD, reported unsecured mail box at scene. Officers responded, investigated, verified condition. U.S. Postal Officers were contacted, advised of the condition. Unsecured Vehicle 1/2, Motorgate, 5-A, 688 Main St. Officer observed an unsecured vehicle at scene, with rear passenger's side window open and all other doors unlocked. There was no visible damage to car. Officer secured door, except front driver's side window, which could not be secured. Owner was identified, message left; Motorgate manager notified. 1/9, Motorgate, 7-B, 688 Main St. Sgt. heard a vehicle's alarm ringing, investigated, noticed the driver's door was not locked, but saw no sign of forced entry. Motorgate attendant was notified. Vehicle's interior was intact. Water Leak 1/3, 540 Main St. PSD officer responded to apt. for report of water leak, upon arrival RIHM super at scene. Resident was at home, there was no leak. They then went to another apt., resident was not home, lock was drilled. While checking apt., discovered bathroom sink was overflowing, water was turned off, area cleaned, there was no other damage. RIHM service locked and secured apt.
