Burglary 12/2, Motorgate 6-A (old/new). 688 Main St., Arrest. While patrolling area, officers observed and arrested a male for burglary. Subsequent search of perp found him to be in possession of burglary tools and marijuana. Criminal Mischief 12/9, store, 544 Main St. Male in-house said unk. person had thrown a half-filled plastic 20.07 bottle of juice into the store, but he did not see who it was. No property damage or injuries occurred. NYPD was refused. 12/12, street, 694 Main St. Female in-house stated she had parked her vehicle at scene on 12/11, returned on 12/12 and had found construction barriers, þZþ bricks inside vehicle, that its right side sliding door had no window and it was previously broken then covered with garbage bags. No items were taken. Officer searched area for other vehicles with similar circumstances with negative results. 12/12, Motorgate 5-C, 688 Main St. Male reported to PSD that he had parked his car on 11/24 and that he had locked it. Upon returning on 12/12 he noticed that right passenger door was unlocked, there were documents strewn about in the interior and the trunk was in disarray. NYPD was refused. Vehicle was towed out of Motorgate.
Harassment 12/13, street, 548 Main St., Dispute. Officer responded to scene where two males (#1 underage), the other an adult were engaged in dispute. Youth stated he was walking north- bound, when a friend picked up the gate, entered store. Complainant #2 ran out of store, accused youth of harassing his family. They then pushed one another. NYPD responded, did not prepare report, both parties refused to press charges. Neither party was injured. Petty Larceny 12/13, Motorgate, 688 Main St. Male in-house, stated his vehicle had been tampered with; and that a US$250.00 car radio had been taken. Upon officer inspecting car, it was noted that soft top cover was ripped (past report). Entry could have been through ripped top or unsecured door. Complainant stated car was not registered/insured. Previous vandalism was reported to PSD / NYPD. Victim refused NYPD. Fire 12/6, street, 543 Main St. Anonymous male informed officer about fire in trash can at scene. Officer responded with fire extinguisher and put it out. There was no damage to trash can. RIOC ACA was notified. Court papers served 12/1, apt., 580 Main St. Male in-house, requested that female resident be served with court documents. Officer served papers to female resident. Disabled Bus 12/7, street, adj. boathouse, 900 Main St. While on motor patrol, officer observed Queens Surface bus #465 disabled in an excavation. Bus driver explained construction crew member was directing traffic around the excavation, tire did not clear it. Crew foreman used backhoe to pull out bus from excavation. Queens Surface mechanic reported no damage to bus. No one was injured. Domestic Dispute 12/8, apt., 560 Main St. Female phoned PSD, stated her husband had threatened her over phone while she was at work; and she heard items being thrown. The reporter also stated their two children were in the apt. Officers responded to scene, the apt. was in good order. The Sergeant spoke with husband, who stated he and wife are having marital problems. The Sergeant and Youth Officer will have a conference with the couple on 12/9/4. Both parties refused NYPD. 12/13, apt., 625 Main St. Concierge phoned PSD that resident male and spouse were having verbal dispute. Officers responded and spoke with both parties. This is an on-going situation. Ultimately both parties agreed not to speak to one another and they were referred to Family Court. Found Property 12/1, stairwell 5-B, 688 Main St. Officers were on vertical patrol, when they found multiple CD's in a CD case. After investigating, officers found owner, who is a resident, and who came to PSD, signed for and retrieved his property. 12/6, bus stop, 300 Main St. RIOC bus driver radioed Duty Officer that a cellular phone had been left on bus #2. Officer responded, searched phone for number, contacted owner, who stated she would retrieve it at PSD. 12/10, RIOC bus #6, 688 Main St. RIOC bus driver (#6) notified PSD, he had found a silver cellular phone on the bus. He met an officer, handed it over. Officer called victim twice with negative results. Phone was secured at PSD. Graffiti 12/10, stairwell 7-D, 510 Main St. Officers responded to roof alarm and observed graffiti on wall and gray stairwell rail. Officers conducted search of D stairwell with negative results. There were no persons at scene, no other graffiti to report. RIHM operator was notified, who would notify maintenance personnel. 12/11, apt., 7 floor, 560 Main St. Female in-house to report derogatory graffiti on her apt. door, regarding her grandson; 911 operator was notified. PSD Sgt. notified NYPD, who responded and prepared report. Officer spoke with woman's grandson, who stated he had not had any problems with anyone at the time. 12/14, hallway, 4 floor, 560 Main St. While on patrol officer observed graffiti on window and sills, and on elevator, þQþ stairwell. Officer searched at 4 level rear to 5l0 with negative results. Investigation 12/8, Motorgate 4-A, 688 Main St. Male phoned PSD stated he parked vehicle at scene on 11/29/4. Upon returning on 12/7, per complainant, unknown person(s) had removed equipment from the car valued at US$3,000, etc. Officer responded to scene, did not find any sign of forced entry. Victim will contact NYPD directly. 12/5, Motorgate 8-A, 688 Main St. While on patrol, officer was instructed to respond to Motorgate office relating to a vandalized vehicle. Female resident stated she had driven auto out of the Motorgate at 9:15 a.m. on 12, parked it again at 1:00 p.m. At 2:30 p.m., 2/5, drove vehicle off island, returned it at 4:30 p.m.. Female said that her sister had discovered lock missing from cylinder while she checked to see if door was secured. Victim stated she does not check vehicle, since she enters from driver's side, but discovered brother's tool box (unknown value), missing. No other items were missing. NYPD responded, prepared report. Motorgate attendant was informed that report had been prepared. 12/15, Motorgate 2-B, 688 Main St. Male non-resident informed officer on patrol that his vehicle had been broken into between 11/28 and 12, stated his multi-tool, 14 CD's, and approximately US$15.00 for a total approx. value of $50.00 had been taken. Vehicle has rag top on part of doors, he also stated there was þlittle forced entryþ. Also victim said, he discovered items missing of 12/4/4 and that vehicle has been broken into a þdozen times,þ not at Motorgate. Officer did not see any damage to the Jeep's widows or top. Menacing / Obstructing Governmental Administration 12/12, apt., 4 River Rd. Arrest by NYPD. Officers responded to a call to heard via Police Scanner. Upon arrival they were told by male victim he was assaulted by two males. When two officers were detaining male resident Perp #1, he began to resist. Perp #2 stepped in to help Perp #1. NYPD responded. Both perps were taken into custody by NYPD. No one was injured. Runaway Youth 12/16, apt., 560 Main St. PSD officer reports NYPD at scene for possible missing person. NYPD officers preparing report, called high school where female youth attends; they were informed she has not attended for 21 days. NYPD will search island. Mother of youth gave two names of runaway's friends. Officers responded to respective apartment, one friend stated she had not seen her since Friday. There was no reply at other friend's apt. Officers searched island in various places where she could be found with negative results. Mother was advised her daughter had been seen on the island on date of report, and she replied that as of yet, the runaway had not returned home. UPDATE: Per Sgt. Rivera, officers on the 11x7 tour made a thorough search of Eastwood complex, North Sector, East & West sea walls, etc., with negative results. Theft of Service 12/14, taxi, 10 River Rd. Concierge notified PSD that taxi driver told him that an unknown male left the taxi without paying the fare of $15.00 from Manhattan. Latter refused to pay, went into building. Concierge saw perp enter premises, and go into elevator. He, however did not know the person. Search of building proved to be unfruitful. Victim refused to file report with NYPD. Unsecured Premises 12/6, office, 546 Main St. While officer was patrolling, officer noticed that door to an office was unsecured, quickly surveyed office; was unable to ascertain if anything was missing. Officer noticed a personal check written by a resident on the desk. Duty Officer was notified and a Committee member was contacted. Check was returned to payee. RIHM Super secured office. There was no evidence of forced entry. 12/10, Motorgate 6-D, 688 Main St. Officer on patrol noticed that a vehicle (Sienna, Suburban) at scene was unsecured. Driver's side window was completely down, but there was no evidence of tampering visible at the time. Officer contacted Motorgate attendant, but computer was down. A short time later, vehicle's owner was observed, who stated he was aware of situation, corrected same. All was in order. 12/11, apt., 2 River Rd. Manhattan Park handyman found unsecured apt. on 11th floor, he did not get any response from within and he notified security. Security tried to make contact with no success. PSD was notified, reporting officer and Sgt. responded, apt. was not occupied. There were no signs of forced entry. Door was secured by Sergeant, while member of Manhattan Park Management was at scene. Unsecured Vehicle 12/1, Motorgate 5-B, 688 Main St. Officers on vertical patrol, found vehicle with driver's door ajar. Inside of vehicle was in order. Officer notified Duty Officer , owner lives at Rivercross, and concierge notified owner. Owner contacted Duty Officer, refused information, further stated she did not care if items were removed from vehicle and refused NYPD report. 12/7, Motorgate 4-A, 688 Main St. Officers conducting a vertical patrol observed a vehicle with its driver's side window down, alarm in active position, but all doors locked. There was cassette tape in console and cellular phone on rear seat. There was no visible damage to exterior. Officer notified Motorgate Asst. Mgr., who checked computer for information on insurance card found in vehicle with negative results; 411 was contacted but owner's telephone number was non-published. 12/8, Motorgate 6-D, 688 Main St. Officer on vertical patrol, observed vehicle with its trunk open, inspected same, found damage to car's rear bumper, deck lid. Car's trunk had pry marks, scratches in cylinder. Officer could not determine if lock damage was a result of trunk being pried open or collision damage. Vandalism 12/1, 4 fl. (fire door), 580 Main St., Criminal mischief. Officer responded to scene at the behest of Duty Officer , to find fire door, which connects 580 to 560, lying on the floor and the floor littered with cigar leaves and marijuana bags. RIHM Super responded, stated he would return with tools and camera. No injuries were reported. UPDATE: RIHM Super informed Sergeant (23x7 tour) that door was removed, that he had taken photos. A search of area was conducted to ascertain if other doors had been vandalized and for perp(s), with negative results. Water Main Break 12/14, lawn, wsw, 900 Main St. While on patrol at Lighthouse Park/Coler Hospital, officer observed a large amount of water coming out on lawn. Officer was notified by Coler Police Sergeant that they had called DEP twice. Officer was notified by RIOC engineer that he was aware of the condition.
