The New York Junior Tennis League (NYJTL) wrapped up its summer activities

The New York Junior Tennis League (NYJTL) wrapped up its summer activities on August 28 with awards and a trip to Kids Day at the U.S. Open. Pictured on page 1 are all the award winners, including: Damian Skiba and Kerrone White, ranked first and second on the League's competitive ladder, as well as joint recipients of the League's Most Valuable Player award; Omar White and Alex Schrum, top Sportsmanship award winners; Moctar Toure, Best Attendance; Lauren Abdul. Most Dedicated; Alim Greaves, Most Improved; and Djavan Guy, Most Helpful. The following participants earned distinctions in the League's Summer Reading Program: Gold Readers, Robert Gallagher and Sean Doyle; Silver Readers, Kaitlin Abdul, Colleen Doyle, and Lauren Abdul.

Also pictured are the supplemental-award winners, as well as Mike Kolba, President of the Roosevelt Island Tennis Association, who was on hand to congratulate the children on their efforts, and the staff of the League: Daniel Cherif, Alex Kornhuber, Hasan Wazani and Joyce Mincheff.

NYJTL will resume tennis activities for ages 7-18 at the Roosevelt Island Racket Club, on Saturday, November 6, 6-8 a.m.
