Assault 7/6, sidewalk, 2/4 River Rd. Female resident youth in-house with mother, stated she was physically assaulted while walking home. Victim was approached at scene by other females. PSD patrol car drove by, and perpetrators fled. EMS, NYPD requested, responded and transported victim to Elmhurst Hospital. Trespassing 7/13, 4th floor roof, 546 Main St. Anonymous resident notified PSD of possible jumper on roof. All officers responded to scene, located female at rear roof, who apparently had gone out on roof to smoke. RIHM supers at scene, and will have window guard replaced at hallway window through which female gained access to the roof. Woman was admonished. Criminal Mischief 7/1, courtyard, 543 Main St. Officers responded to scene of possible dispute. Upon arrival there was no dispute in progress. However, the Chapel's Announcement Board's plexiglass was shattered, and one plant had been pulled out of its pot. Officer notified the pastor, and prepared a RIOC Grounds Report for repairs to be made. 7/5, 4th-floor hallway, 540 Main St. RIHM Super informed PSD Duty Officer that unknown perps burned the "Wet Paint" signs on the wall, causing the paint to burn. On Duty Super responded, took pictures and repainted area. 7/10, LR ext. window, 540 Main St. Officers responded to scene for report of broken window, observed a 4-inch hole to exterior window pane. Reporter said she had seen a youth running away from area but could not identify him. RIHM Super was notified. Disorderly Conduct 7/13, street, 579 Main St., Arrest. Anonymous female in-house, stated two youths were engaged in physical dispute. Officer requested assistance, they arrived and saw two youths having a verbal dispute. Both youths were escorted to PSD, where each was issued a "C" summons. Harassment 7/2, apt., 540 Main St. Male resident in-house relating to disagreement between two long-term roommates. Matter referred to RIHM Manager. 7/5, Motorgate, 688 Main St. Female in-house, stated that at 12 noon on 7/4, she tapped the rear of parked vehicle. A female driver exited the vehicle screaming. NYPD responded, left area. On 7/5 when she returned to her car she noticed a threatening note on windshield. Victim cannot identify perp. There was no damage to car. NYPD refused. 7/7, lobby, 546 Main St. Female in-house, said she was speaking with friends, when a female complained that she was talking very loudly. Victim stated the other woman used derogatory ethnic names towards her. Complainant refused NYPD. Officer asked the other woman to stay away from complainant. 7/12, apt., 540 Main St. Aggravated. Home aide in-house, reported her client is afraid of another health aide who phones her frequently, shows up for work when she should not, and has to be escorted out by victim. The perp. was ultimately dismissed. On 7/7 was in-house requesting escort to the apt. The victim and health aide advised sergeant on duty that perp. was not to be allowed in apt. Since then perp. has repeatedly phoned the apt. NYPD was refused. 7/13, swim. pool, 40 River Rd. Female in-house, complained 19 year-old female allegedly sexually harasses her 16 year-old son. Mother claims she has spoken to her several times. NYPD was requested, responded, accompanied complainant to meet with alleged perp's. parents. 7/14, apt., 560 Main St. Aggravated. Female in-house to file complaint against her daughter and granddaughter for repeatedly phoning her apt. demanding money owed them by victim's brother. Victim is unable to file NYPD report at the present time, but will do so. Officer contacted woman's granddaughter, advised her to cease making phone calls to the apt., and to take money matter to court.
7/11, Gristede's, 686 Main St. Gristede's employee notified PSD the bread/donuts daily morning deliveries (which are left in front of the store at 6:00 a.m.) have been missing when he opens store at 7:00 a.m. Reporter was advised to speak to Deputy Director Bryan, also the Night Sergeants would be notified. 7/13, north of 300 Main St. Male non-resident in-house, stated he had locked up two bicycles at Firefighters' Field on 7/8. Upon returning on 7/13, the chain had been cut, bicycles (two blue/gray, 18-speed mountain bikes, valued at US$100 each) were missing. Officer searched area with negative results. Found Property 7/11, chapel, 543 Main St. Pastor in-house, stated he found a man's personal documents in the chapel. Same were secured at PSD, owner could not be located. Officer contacted Bowery Mission, was informed person had left on 7/9/4. PSD's phone number was left as a contact if he were to return to the mission. Hazardous Condition 7/5, west seawall, 501 Main St. Anonymous female in-house, stated there was a large hole in Meditation Steps. Officer responded to scene, saw small hole, approximately five inches in diameter in the middle of the top step. C. Rubino, Grounds Supervisor, was advised. Investigation 7/5, apt., 546 Main St. Female non-resident phoned PSD, stated her elderly father had had surgery, his phone was off the hook. Officer and RIHM Super responded to scene, entered. The man was sleeping and the phone was off the hook. Condition was corrected, all was in order. 7/6, restaurant, 609 Main St. Male from China #1 flagged down officer, said that in the past week, male/female youths have tried to purchase food with counterfeit US$20.00 bills. He handed officer a bill that he had received from unknown male, 911 was notified, responded. Officers stated they have to be vouchered at 19th Pct. Bill was secured at PSD. On 7/9, property was vouchered at 114th Pct. 7/11, apt., 546 Main St. Female phoned PSD, stated father (R.I resident) had left two unclear phone messages on her machine. Officer responded to latter's apt. with RIHM super, entered, did not find any one at home. Lost Property 7/8, RIOC bus, 40 River Rd. RIOC bus driver requested officer retrieve cell phone that was left on the bus. Officer brought cell phone to PSD officer, where it was secured. Possible owner was contacted. 7/9, store, 563 Main St. Male in-house, reported having lost wallet on 7/8, which did not have any identification. It contained US$421.00. Victim stated he had returned to store, asked owner if it had been returned, but with negative results. 7/13, street, 543 Main St. Found. Male in-house, gave sergeant a wallet, who checked its contents in front of an officer: US$24, some coins, Citibank credit card. Subsequently owner in-house, property returned to her. Property Damage 7/4/, park, rear of 500 Main St. Underage male youth, sister (reporter) in-house. Former said he was playing ball in park, and it inadvertently struck adult male in face, he tried to apologize. However, the man threw his dirt bicycle in East River. Officers responded, perp. was escorted to PSD office. Perp. and victim agreed to solve situation between themselves. NYPD, EMS refused. Smoke Condition 7/8, apt., 540 Main St. Smoke alarm rang, officers responded to scene. There was a smell of burned food. Resident stated he had inadvertently spilled oil on stove, causing it to smoke - no injuries or damage to apt. Unsecured Premises 7/1, opposite Octagon Park, 750 Main St. Officers responded to comfort stations, saw that both padlocks were missing from doors. There was no damage to either door. C. Rubino, Grounds Supervisor notified, stated new locks would be installed on July 2nd. Extra patrols will be conducted by next tours. Unsecured Vehicle 7/3, Motorgate, 7-B, 7-D, 688 Main St. Officer on motor patrol observed two vehicles with driver's side windows open, notified Motorgate attendant. Vehicle 1's owner (gray Hyundai, 4-door) was notified, corrected situation. There was no missing property, etc. (Vehicle #2, white Mitsubishi Montero Sport.) 7/4, Motorgate, 2-B, 688 Main St. While on motor patrol, officer observed green Toyota Echo with driver's side window open that appeared undisturbed. Motorgate attendant notified. 7/8, Motorgate, 7-D, 688 Main St. Officer patrolling, noticed that back driver's side window was open in a 4-door VW Jetta, vehicle and contents appeared in order. Message left on owner's answering machine by officer, who monitored area while on patrol. Vehicle Accident 7/1, ramp, 688 Main St. Officer responded to scene of vehicle accident, no one was injured, 911 contacted and en route, upon arrival 114th Pct. officer prepared accident report. PSD officers responded to scene. They had an accident on ramp. Water Leak 7/10, fish store. 530 Main St. Officer, RIHM super responded to Apt. #431 at 510), resident, refused them entry. Water leak caused damage to Fish Store's ceiling. RIHM personnel cleaned it.
