Assault 6/19, entrance PS 217 playground, 645 Main St. Officers responded to school yard entrance for report of past assault. On arrival underage female youth’s parent said youth was playing across street when male underage youth physically assaulted her. NYPD was called, responded and prepared report. EMS responded. Victim’s mother refused medical assistance. An Island-wide search was made with victim and parents with negative results. PSD and NYPD officers responded, re-interviewed victim. On 6/21 NYPD responded, victim escorted to PS 217, picked out picture of underage male. Alleged perp’s mother responded to scene, stated her son had not been on Roosevelt Island on 6/19. NYPD, 114th Pct. Detectives advised parents they would investigate the incident and advise the parents of the victim. 6/21, playground entrance, PS 217, 645 Main St. Follow up above assault, 6/19. Mother of youth and male interpreter in-house, reported victim stated that during lunch (could not remember what time it was), and she did not notify school personnel or school security, she had seen the perp playing basketball at the school playground. Mother was advised that 114th Pct. Detective Squad would be investigating the matter. 6/25, f/o PS217, sidewalk, 645 Main St. Arrest by NYPD. Officer was flagged down by female at scene, and officer observed the aforementioned woman assault a male School Peace Officer. Officer requested additional officers, who responded, as well as NYPD and school supervisors. EMS was refused by victim. NYPD refused by victim. PSD Director, Lieutenant notified. 6/26, sidewalk opposite 10 River Rd. Arrest. Officers noticed a male at scene, accompanied by two other males with open containers of beer. Officers obtained ID’s, commenced writing “C” summonses, when the first man became disorderly. Other officers responded, attempted to place him under arrest, he resisted and tried to assault reporting officer. He was placed under arrest; the other two men were admonished and released. Robbery 6/23, rear third floor, 546 Main St. Male
in-house, stated that while he was delivering food at scene three males
exited from a stairwell and cut him with a knife on left shoulder and took
US$500 from his left pants pocket. Victim stated he works at China
One. Officer searched area for perpetrators with negative results.
Victim said that the perps covered their faces. NYPD present, interviewed
victim, who was not seriously injured and refused medical attention. Trespass 6/28, P-7, 2nd landing, 560 Main St., Arrest. Officers on vertical patrol observed male at scene for approximately 20 minutes in possession of one new Dutch Master cigar with two full bags of alleged marijuana and a half-rolled blunt. Marijuana smell was emanating from green leafy substance. Male was issued two “C” summonses. Alleged marijuana was secured at PSD.
6/30, breezeway, 540 Main St.. Arrest. Officers responded to scene for report of dispute. Two officers arrived first, separated two males engaged in physical dispute. Perps were placed under arrest, escorted to PSD office, each issued a “C” summons. No injuries were reported.
Petty Larceny He also picked up a can of beer, went towards the front to pay for the beer. Store employees stopped him and found the BBQ ribs in brown laundry bag; 114th Pct. was requested, responded. Perp was apprehended by Gristede’s personnel and made to sign an affidavit that he would not enter the store again and released. They refused to press charges against the man. Coler Hospital police notified. 6/20, store, 579 Main St. M&D Deli employee phoned PSD, stated an unknown male perp had stolen a 40-oz. bottle of beer (valued at US$2.40) and fled. Officers responded, employee stated the man had wanted to buy the beer; when told not until 12 noon, he took it and fled. Officers responded and searched area with negative results. NYPD was refused.
6/25, street, 40 River Rd. Concierge phoned PSD, said there was a fight between two males at scene. Upon arrival, officer saw two men standing beside a car. They said they had not been fighting, just arguing, that they were brothers and not residents. Both were escorted off-Island.

6/30, apt., 540 Main St. Unknown resident in-house, reported a smell of smoke on the first floor of building. Officers responded. Upon arrival, an officer saw a burned book, but fire was extinguished. Next to the book, there was a book of matches, and a 22-oz. can of Resolve stain remover. RIHM service employee was at scene, cleaned up area. Area was searched for perp with negative results. Nobody incurred any injuries, nor was there any property damage. Investigation 6/21, apt., 560 Main St. Male in-house accompanied by victim of whom he is a guardian and witness to the incident. He reported that an un-registered motorcycle valued at US$500. was stolen from his apartment. The front door was unlocked and his daughter heard the door closing and the motorcycle was missing. The reporter and victim searched area with negative results. Male witness informed them he had seen a male youth riding the motorcycle northbound by the east seawall. Officers searched area with negative results. NYPD was refused. 6/22, Motorgate, 7-A, 688 Main St. Officers on patrol noticed that an iron fence had been damaged and was pushed in; they could not ascertain if it had been intentionally or accidentally or if anything was missing from within the fenced area. Officers found part of a KIA license plate frame at scene. Subsequently officers discovered a vehicle with a damaged front fender and part of its license plate frame missing. They obtained owner’s name, took two pictures of vehicle. Subsequently sergeant responded three times to address of vehicle’s owner, with negative results. 6/23, Motorgate, 7-A, 688 Main St., Update to investigation of 6/22. Officers responded to 625 Main to an apartment. on the third floor, regarding past vehicle incident, learned vehicle’s owner had gone on vacation, leaving car’s keys at home. Her son took the keys, loaned them to a friend; who drove car into the fence, damaging same. Officers informed youth’s sister that her mother could be liable for damage to the fence. 6/24, Motorgate, 4-B, 688 Main St. Male phoned PSD, stated the front license plate of his Toyota Camry was missing. Officer responded to Motorgate, confirmed that front license plate was indeed missing. Officer searched area with negative results. Victim refused NYPD. 6/28, west roadway under 59th Street Bridge, 281 Main St. While on patrol officer observed a gray cargo container with no markings under 59th Street Bridge opposite Roosevelt Island Racquet Club, 911was notified. NYPD, 114th Pct. Commanding Officer responded, as well as Emergency Services, Bomb Squad, etc. Container’s locks were cut, doors opened. Deemed not to be of any danger by investigation. 6/30, Motorgate, 6-D, 688 Main St. Male informed officer that upon arriving at his vehicle he noticed that it had been hit in the rear. Officer inspected the vehicle and it had yellow paint markings (caused by unknown vehicle) on rear bumper. Officer searched for vehicle which had done damage with negative results. Victim refused NYPD.

6/26, apt., 575 Main St. Female in-house, stated her Paloma Picasso velvet shawl that was in her livingroom closet, and that was valued at US$700.00 eight years ago, was missing. The current value of said shawl is US$150.00. She cannot find it and her roommate is also unable to find it. There was no sign of forced entry, nor tampering. NYPD was requested, responded, prepared a report. 6/27, Good Shepherd, 543 Main St. Male pastor at church phoned PSD, informed Duty Officer he had placed female’s purse in locked closet in the chapel. Upon his return, the pastor observed that the lock on door was off. He gave victim her purse. After inspecting purse, the victim informed him approximately US$40.00, her wallet, two Amex cards, cell phone palm pilot worth US$300. were missing. NYPD was contacted and responded. Victim was unsure where she may have left the items after speaking with NYPD officers. Unsecured Premises 6/22, apt., 580 Main St. Officers responded with RIHM porter to apartment for an unsecured door. They checked it, and found it vacant; it had been left open by painters. RIHM super was advised, door was secured. 6/23, abandoned bldg., 575 Main St. Female in-house, informed Duty Officer that on 6/19, four adults (three males, one female), had asked her underage son to go into an abandoned building at site with them, because “they wanted to show him something.” However, youth fled. 911 was refused by reporter. Officer searched exterior gate, and noticed three unsecured locations where entry could have been easily gained. RIOC engineer was notified. 6/28, gate, opposite 300 Main St. Anonymous female called PSD, stated that Southtown construction gate #4 opposite the Tram was down. Officer investigated and confirmed same, searched the area. Nobody was on site. RIOC’s Access Control Adminstrator was notified. Trailers on site appeared to be secure. It is unknown if any property had been taken. Gate will be secured by RIOC’s grounds personnel. Unsecured Vehicle Water Leak |
