The Roosvelt Island Day Nursery has received accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the nation’s leading organization of early-childhood professionals.  The Nursery offers a subsidized full-day program for four-year-olds, plus two-morning, five-morning, and full-day programs for children ages two through five.

The Icla da Silva Foundation is seeking volunteers to help with its annual Blood Drive, to be held on Roosevelt Island Day, Saturday, June 12.  The committee will help with publicity, sign-ups, and other details.  Call Airam da Silva at 212-593-1807.

Roosevelt Island has once again been named a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation.
