Trespass 4/17, A-19 stairwell, 510 Main St. Officers responded to roof alarm. Upon their arrival at Stairwell A-19, they observed male non-resident on the roof. They saw urine on roof floor as well. The male was escorted to PSD, issued two “C” summonses and released.4/30, hall adjacent to elevator, 540 Main St. Officers responded to scene for report of a group “hanging out” at scene. Upon arriving they observed three males sitting on floor, and one of them had an open bottle of beer. Perps were escorted to PSD, where they were issued “C” summonses and released. Criminal Mischief 4/20, apt. door, 510 Main St. Officer responded to apartment; resident stated unknown person(s) had sprayed a chemical under her door and oil on the living room ledge. Officer and RIHM maintenance man did not find the source of the oil. RIHM Mgr. to assign supervisor to check possible source of oil and follow up with Sergeant.Disorderly Conduct 4/19, street, 552 Main St. While officer was directing traffic during a movie shoot, officer stopped traffic. Upon stopping male resident’s vehicle, man honked horn. Officer approached car to explain situation, and perp was rude. Traffic began to move and as he drove off, he called the officer names. Officer issued him a summons.Petty Larceny 4/17, Gristede’s, 686 Main St. Officer responded to Gristede’s, whose security guard had phoned PSD to report a male resident having been caught shoplifting items valued at US$1.70. Reporter refused to press charges. Coler police was notified of incident.Bench Warrants 4/23, apt., 560 Main St., Arrest. NYPD Detectives informed officer that he and other officers had responded to area to pick up a female for violation of parole. She fled from 4th floor after she was seen speaking with a male, who had outstanding bench warrants for unpaid summonses. Male was arrested.Dispute 4/22, Northtown Park, 580 Main St. Patrolling officer was informed by NYPD officer they were responding to 540, 7th floor for report of man with a gun. After investigating, no weapon was recovered, but cross-complaint investigative report was filed. Victim #1 (underage male) stated he was hurt by three unknown youths after he had had dispute with Victim #2’s daughter at Northtown Park. Female had no visible injuries and refused EMS. NYPD advised both parties to stay away from one another.4/24, Grog Shop, 605 Main St. While resident male was making a purchase, an argument ensued between him and the proprietor. Ultimately the transaction was cancelled. Patron was referred to N.Y. State Consumer Affairs. Domestic Dispute 4/24, apt., 4 River Rd. Officers and NYPD responded to scene, saw male in hallway, cut on left side of head. NYPD officer asked him what had occurred, he stated he and girlfriend had a disagreement. Female resident informed NYPD officer she wanted male to take all his belongings from the apartment. Male stated he only wanted his clothes and money. Male refused EMS.Graffiti 4/23, stairs T-7, 580 Main St. Officer on patrol observed graffiti in stairwell T-7, searched area for perp(s) with negative results.Hazardous Condition 4/22, sidewalk ramp, west seawall, 541 Main. Anonymous female informed officer there was a round manhole cover (broken into six pieces) at scene. RIOC engineer contacted, responded and stated there were no covers available to replace it. PSD Director ordered that a PSD car be placed over the hole and that the proper information be passed from each sergeant to the next tour’s sergeant until matter fixed.4/29, street, 694 Main St. Officer noticed that an area of Z-bricks had severe buckling with water bubbling up from the ground; RIOC engineer was notified, who stated it was likely caused by water main break. The 311 DEP operator was notified. 4/30, playground, opposite 645 Main St. RIOC employee reported to officer that fence at scene had fallen down. Sari Dickson was notified, asked if they could be repaired and cordoned off temporarily, officer complied. RIOC maintenance report was filled out. Investigation 4/29, Motorgate, 6-A, 688 Main St. PSD officer, NYPD , 114th Pct. sergeant and Auto Crime detective responded to Motorgate levels 5-C, 5-C/D, 5-D, 6-A, 6-C to follow up on recovered stolen vehicle found on level 6-A. A list of stolen or abandoned vehicles from other locations was prepared by PSD officer.4/30, hallway, 510 Main St. Officer responded to resident’s apartment relating to complaint from another resident, who stated resident #1 falsely accuses her son of kicking her door. Both residents referred to RIHM for a conference. Lost Property 4/20, street, Roosevelt Island. Anonymous female in-house stated she had found a wallet (containing Amex, Visa cards and other miscellaneous items, belonging to a female NYU student). Wallet was secured at PSD. 4/21, lobby, 546 Main St. Non-resident male in-house reported having lost a video camera valued at approximately US$1,600. in the lobby on 4/16. Complainant waited until 4/21 to report it at PSD, because he was checking other locations he had been with negative results.Missing/Aided 4/17, laundry room, 40 River Rd. NYPD phoned PSD, stated underage female was missing, gave description and how she was dressed. PSD officers made search of entire island with negative results. Duty Officer contacted Child Care Specialist at 40 River Road and girl had not returned as of 10:00 p.m. 4/17, apt., 575 Main St. Female resident in-house stated underage son was missing since 1:30 p.m. on 4/16. NYPD was notified, Roosevelt Island was searched with negative results. NYPD responded. Son subsequently called mother, and she went to meet him in Manhattan and stated she would contact PSD with update. NYPD prepared a report. Missing Property 4/19, Thrift Shop, 532 Main St. Female in-house stated that when she was in the process of locking up, she turned around and realized her purse (contents: apartment keys, driver’s license, etc.) was missing. She contacted Father Miqueli, who locked the shop. Locks to be changed in the morning. NYPD responded.Noise Complaint 4/18, rear of Westview, 625 Main St. Male resident phoned PSD, complained of loud noise and barbecuing at rear of Westview. Officer responded, there was no one barbecuing. There were adult residents and children, who were playing under the overpass. Officer asked adults to have children play quietly. PSD received three complaints. Residents were asked by officer to leave the area and complied.4/22, apt., 546 Main St. Officer responded to apartment, whose tenant informed him that between 3:00 and 4:00 a.m. unknown person(s) rang the doorbell; but no one was there when she opened door. Officer advised female if the incident occurred again to call PSD. Recovered Stolen Vehicle 4/28, Motorgate, 6-A, 688 Main St. Officers observed vehicle with ignition, steering column broken and doors open, found owner’s phone number, contacted her. The victim stated vehicle had been reported stolen two months ago; 911 was notified, 114th Pct. officer responded, prepared report, requested vehicle towed.Unsecured Premises 4/16, RIHM office, 552 Main St. Male resident in-house informed D.O. RIHM office door was open. Officer responded, RIHM Super was contacted and secured lock from the inside.4/21, library, 524 Main St. Officer responded with FDNY. Guard was locked inside, called 911. FDNY opened gate, forced door. Guard did not have code to reset alarm. Officer notified NYPL Investigations. Guard was instructed to go. NYPD responded. Vehicle Accident 4/20, parking lot, 200 Main St. Male phoned PSD, stated he had seen another vehicle bump his while looking out the window at scene. When complainant left work, he contacted owner of the vehicle and PSD. Officer responded and found a small paint chip on front bumper, paint scratches. The perp. admitted having bumped the other vehicle, but did not feel he caused any damage. NYPD was refused.4/22, street, 563 Main St. While on patrol, officer saw a lift strike another vehicle, breaking the back window. Car’s owner was notified that movie producers of Dark Water would pay all damages incurred; and she gave her car keys to the Production Manager for prompt replacement of the window. Vehicle in Traffic Law 4/24, street, 20 River Rd., Arrest. Officer observed a car going northbound with unmatching license plates, pulled over vehicle. Driver refused to present his documents and was arrested. NYPD arrived, determined vehicle was not stolen. PSD officer responded to 114th Pct., surrendered the plates. Vehicle was towed from Roosevelt Island.Water Leak 4/18, apt., 546 Main St. Officer and RIHM maintenance man responded to scene. Resident had inadvertently left water running in the sink and sink overflowed. There was no property damage.4/27, apt., 625 Main St. Officer responded to scene, RIHM super and maintenance worker entered premises. They found running water. RIHM employee corrected condition in the apartment and in hallway. Apartment was locked and secured. |
