Assault

9/27, apt., 595 Main St.  Arrest by NYPD.  Officers responded to male’s apt. for report of female being assaulted.  Upon arrival, woman stated boyfriend had assaulted her.  And she had sustained lacerations to the head, was bleeding from the nose and had bruises on her face.  Victim identified the male, who was present, and who was arrested by NYPD, transported to 114th Pct. for processing.  Female was taken to Mt. Sinai by EMS.

9/29, Gristede’s, 686 Main St.  Male in-house, informed Duty Officer of an incident which occurred on 9/28 at Gristede’s, where he is employed.  He said he was making a phone call at the deli area and removed his shoes.  The security guard approached him, and told him to put on the shoes, and victim complied.  The security guard later returned and punched victim in the face causing him to lose consciousness for several minutes, he woke up feeling dizzy and light-headed.  Complainant went home one hour later.  Reporting officer asked Manager why 911 had not been called.  He did not give an explanation.  Officer interviewed another Gristede’s employee, who confirmed what victim had said.  Officer radioed central, 911 was called, EMS responded, victim refused medical attention, stated he would go to his own doctor.  NYPD responded.

Trespass

9/25, hallway, 546 Main St., Arrest.  RIHM super reported having seen five youths enter building’s 12-J stairwell.  Officers responded, saw youths in hallway.  They were taken into custody, parents/guardians for three of the youths retrieved them; two of the youths were issued “C” summonses.

Criminal Mischief

9/16, outer lobby door 560 Main St.  While on patrol, officer saw that the outer lobby glass door was smashed.  He searched the area for unknown perp  with negative results.  RIHM employee taped the glass until repairs could be made.

9/27, senior center, 546 Main St.  Resident informed officer that a door in the kitchen had been damaged.  Officer responded and observed same.  RIHM was notified; operator was to call maintenance.  Officer checked the area for more damage, none was found.

Harassment
   
9/19, apt., 30 River Rd., Domestic Incident.  Officers responded to phone call for a domestic incident.  The female victim said her live-in boyfriend had seized her right arm and had pulled her hair, while they were engaged in a dispute.  After the dispute she went to the lobby.  Officers went to the apt.  There was no reply at door nor on the phone; 911 was notified, NYPD responded to apt. with PSD officers.  The male answered the door.  He stated the female had thrown his property into the hallway and admitted having pulled her hair.  NYPD prepared a domestic incident report.

9/23, sidewalk, 599 Main St.  Female in-house, said that male resident threatened to assault her, he then walked to 2/4 River Road, entered the building, and had taken the elevator.  Incident was related to a dispute victim and male had had last week when she reprimanded, because he had struck his mother.  NYPD responded, prepared report.  Officer advised victim if situation persists to call 911.

9/27, subtenant, 540 Main St.  Female in-house, said she had been sub-letting a room from tenant for three weeks.  And several days ago, the latter asked her to move on 9/30.  The former stated she was awaiting approval for two landlords on 10/1.  Tenant became irate, demanding she vacate the room on 9/30.  NYPD responded, prepared a report.

9/28, apt., 560 Main St.  Female in-house, complained about a past incident of 9/26, stated a neighbor had pounded on her door, using foul language and waking her mother.  Victim stated she had called service regarding neighbor’s door so it would not make noise.  Neighbor harasses since then.  RIHM general manager notified and spoke with victim’s neighbor.

Fire

9/18, AVAC basement, 510 Main St.  PSD’s fire detection alarm system at Duty Officer’s desk rang.  All officers responded to scene.  Upon arrival RIHM super had already turned off the water flow.  Unknown person had thrown a lit cigarette down AVAC.  No damage occurred.  RIHM general manager notified.

Dispute

9/18, street, 531 Main St.  Anonymous woman advised Duty Officer of a dispute in front of Rivercross.  Officer arrived and separated a man and a woman from each other.  Female resident and a male taxi driver were engaged in a physical dispute emanating from the fact that the woman refused to pay, because the driver was unable to supply a receipt.  The driver stated he did not have a card to supply the receipt and the fare from Kennedy was a flat rate of US$35.00.  Ultimately the driver took the woman’s bag in an effort to have the woman pay him the fare.  She in turn grabbed at the handbag and slapped him several times.  The male did not strike her.  Both parties refused NYPD.  EMT at scene did state the woman was screaming and had hit the male several times.

9/19, sidewalk, 4 River Rd.  Female phoned PSD, stated she was in the lobby when two females walked in and words were exchanged among them.  A dispute erupted.  Two officers responded.  Each party alleged the others had initiated the dispute and stated they would go to 114th Pct.

9/22, boutique, 599 Main St.  Officers responded to scene.  Upon arrival there was a female crying.  She said she and a male had had a verbal dispute.  She, however, refused to give further details, but stated he had not threatened her nor had he struck her.

9/25, PS 217, 645 Main St.  Male in-house, said his underage son and another youth had been involved in a dispute over a game at the gym.  One youth had pushed the other.  The parent refused EMS, but requested NYPD.  Upon NYPD’s arrival he refused a report after discussing the matter with the other youth’s parent, Beacon Program’s representative would be informed of the matter. 

9/28, apt., 540 Main St.  Female in-house, stated she has been sub-letting a room in her apt. for two weeks to another female.  She now wants her to move.  The sub-tenant had filed a harassment report against her on 9/27.  NYPD was called, prepared a report.  Sub-tenant was escorted to apt. by NYPD officer, where tenant gave the former US$500.  On Tuesday the sub-tenant will retrieve her belongings.

Domestic Incident

9/22, apt., 560 Main St.  Officer responded to apt. for possible dispute.  NYPD officer at scene, stated male and female were arguing.  They then started pushing each other.  Police officer filed a domestic incident report for harassment.

Fire Alarm

9/22, apt., 4 River Rd.  Officer observed FDNY at scene and requested additional officers to conduct traffic.  Officer responded to apt.  Female resident stated she had put the oven on self cleaning, and had left for work.  There were no injuries.

Found Property

9/19, card store, 563 Main St.  Female resident in-house, reported she had found US$660.00 on the floor of the Card Shop, which she handed to a Sgt.  The money was secured at PSD.  Subsequently a male Island employee retrieved the funds.

9/20, apt., 30 River Rd.  Concierge phoned PSD and stated he had a purse in his possession, whose owner he did not know nor did he know from where it had come.  Public Safety sergeant looked through the purse, and ascertained it belonged to a patient at Coler Hospital.  Purse was delivered to a sergeant at Coler.

9/27, hallway, 580 Main St.  Female in-house, handed Duty Officer a black knapsack, which contained two sets of keys, two pairs of eyeglasses, but no money nor identification.  Subsequently victim’s wife in-house to claim property.  A cellular phone was missing.  They had already called to discontinue service.

Graffiti

9/19, stairwell, 510 Main St.  While on patrol, officer noticed graffiti in stairwells A-16, A-1, and searched area for more graffiti with negative results.

Investigation

9/16, Thrift store, 520 Main St.  While patrolling, Thrift Shop employee informed officer that an unknown male youth had thrown a bag of clothing towards the shop’s book section, which is near the door.  The reporter went to retrieve the bag.  The youth ran out of the store.  The bag contained several items of clothing valued at US$27.00.  The worker said it is not the first time youth has done that.

9/24, hallway, 555 Main St.  Male resident in-house, said he was being followed and identified the male who was allegedly following him.  Officer interviewed the latter, who explained he was looking for another man, whom he named, who may have been with the complainant.

9/25, Grog Shop, 605 Main St.  Alarm response.  Officers responded to scene for alarm sounding, reported same to ADT.  Upon arrival, location was in order and there was no damage.  Officer saw three overturned plants in front of 595 Main St., and soil on the ground.  Store owner responded, found everything was in order.  Westview concierge was notified.  Plants were uprighted.

9/25, Northtown Park, 625 Main St.  Male youth in-house, stated that unknown youth, with whom he had been playing, had pushed him. Victim’s mother was contacted, responded to PSD.  Youth did not complain of any injury and left with his mother.

Noise Complaints

9/17, apt., 560 Main St.  Officer responded to scene.  Victim said that earlier in the day her next-door neighbor had been banging on the walls, causing noise in her apt.  Officer spoke with the complainant’s neighbor, who stated no noise was being made in her apt.  When officer arrived he did not hear any noise from the hallway.

9/21, apt., 560 Main St.  Officer responded to scene.  Victim complained that her neighbor constantly bangs on her walls.  Officer has been to victim’s apt. numerous times and has never heard any noise.  Victim refused NYPD.

9/28, lobby, 560 Main St.  Officer saw that outer door was open, while closing it, he realized the door was off track, notified Duty Officer, and called RIHM service.  Upon maintenance employee’s arrival, he saw that top door’s shield was cracked, causing the door to fall off track.  Door was removed to correct condition.

Reckless Endangerment

9/27, courtyard, 576 Main St.  Officers responded to scene for report of unknown person(s) shooting a BB gun.  Upon arrival, officers saw youths hiding from through a window.  Officers responded to an apt.; after speaking with a female adult, officers saw a bean shooter and determined that youths were shooting beans out of the window.  Sgt. in charge spoke with parents and youths.  Matter to be referred to Youth Officer.

Unlawful Possession of Weapon by Person Under 16

9/5, front of building, 560 Main St.  Anonymous female informed officer that she saw underage male youth with large firearm in the waistband.  Sgt. notified 114th Pct. Detective Squad and six detectives responded, stopped and frisked youth and three others in area.  Officers responded to scene.  Youth reached into waistband and dropped a purple plastic spring pistol onto bench.  Youth was issued Juvenile Report.  Matter referred to Youth Officer.

Unsecured Premises

9/21, apt., 575 Main St.  Officer responded to scene at the request of RIHM maintenance man when he found door open.  Upon officer’s arrival she confirmed same.  They searched the area for resident with negative results, then entered the premises, which appeared to be in order.  Maintenance man installed a “slam lock” and stated he would return later when resident returns.  Officer advised RIHM super and concierge of the situation.

Vehicle Accident

9/26, street, 560 Main St., Aided.  Female in-house, reported she had been struck by an ambulette at scene.  Officer reports victim was crossing street when a westbound ambulette’s bumper had struck her right shoulder.  Victim had no visible signs of injury, victim refused EMS, NYPD.

Water Leak

9/18, apt., 555 Main St.  Officer and RIHM employee responded to apt., the latter to repair toilet pipes.  Apt. was locked and secured.

9/19, apt., 555 Main St.  Officer and RIHM employee went to apt. in order for RIHM employee to complete repairs in bathroom.  Apt. was locked and secured upon completion.
