The Island Girls Project (IGP), expanding its mentoring program, is looking for women willing to share their time and experience with Island girls.

According to Maureen Santella, who administers IGP for the Roosevelt Island Youth Program, the group seeks college students, senior women, homemakers, and professional women who are willing to impart their knowledge and the benefit of their experience to young girls. "We believe there is an extraordinary wealth of knowledge and experience here on Roosevelt Island," said Santella. "We hope these women recognize their gifts and would like to share them. The commitment is minimal and the reward is maximal."
