July 16 through September 17

Assault

7/27, sidewalk, 2/4 River Rd., Anonymous reporter phoned PSD, stated that a large group of people, some with bats, were in front of bldg. Upon officers' arrival they saw large group. NYPD was requested. Persons with bats had fled. No fight was observed. Female resident approached officer bleeding from left hand, stating non-resident perp had bitten her. EMS treated the former, transported her to Mt. Sinai, Queens. A detective from 114th Pct. arrived, transported perp., who had an injury to the mouth, to Mt. Sinai, Queens. Subsequently, detective phoned and stated NYPD had arrested both males for assault.

Robbery

7/25, sidewalk, 556 Main St., Mother of resident and under-age youth in-house. Mother stated three unknown youths had taken money from youth's pockets and had pushed him to the ground, causing a small cut to right knee. EMS, NYPD were refused. Officer searched area with negative results.

Criminal mischief

7/26, laundry, 556 Main St., Various officers responded to scene for report of youths breaking one of the washers. Upon arrival officers saw that washer #4 was missing coin slot. Search of area was conducted with negative results. RIHM super notified, service worker removed $34.75 in quarters from machine. Money secured at PSD.

7/30, hall, 555 Main St., Officer observed burns in carpet at scene. RIHM report written. Sgt. ordered more frequent patrols of area.

Disorderly conduct

7/18, sidewalk, 625 Main St., Arrest, Officer saw a male riding bicycle on sidewalk who became irate at officer upon being told to ride on the street. Other officers responded, escorted him to PSD, where he was issued a þCþ summons for disorderly conduct, and another for riding bicycle on the sidewalk.

7/28, 532 Main St., Arrest, Resident victim asked officer to stop youth, who stopped voluntarily and said she'd knocked over condiments at restaurant. The man would not serve her. Youth was brought to PSD, issued a þCþ summons and released.

Harassment

7/19, street, 510 Main St., Non-resident female in-house, stated resident female has verbally threatened and harassed her. She further said it is on-going (6 months). NYPD responded, prepared report. The victim did not want to press charges.

7/27, west seawall, 595 Main St., Male resident informed officer that three youths had approached him, asked for a dollar, when he refused, they covered their faces with scarfs and one of them punched victim. Complainant identified one youth, who was placed in custody, escorted to PSD's youth office. He was issued a Juvenile Report, released to his mother. Victim did not incur any injuries, refused NYPD and EMS. Complainant said the youth in custody was not the one who had punched him.

7/28, elevator 4, 560 Main St., Victim in-house said she'd entered elevator, four unknown males had pushed her out while they exited elevator Victim refused EMS. Officer searched area with negative results.

7/28, terrace, 560 Main St., Officer responded to scene, where victim reported trash had been thrown onto terrace. Officer investigated and did see several items, including various disgusting items. Area was searched with negative results. Victim had taken photos of the afore-mentioned.

Petty larceny

7/28, patio, 580 Main St., Resident informed officer unknown person had removed seven pieces of wood from his fenced in patio. RIHM notified. Officer searched area with negative results.

Fire

7/19, sidewalk, 543 Main St., Anonymous female informed officer of fire in trash can. Officers responded, extinguished fire. RIOC Whse. Manager. will replace damaged trash can. No injuries incurred.

7/31, courtyard, 555/575 Main, Officer responded to scene of small fire (magazine), which was almost extinguished. Officer extinguished same. According to youths it was started by another youth. No injuries or property damage incurred.

Found property

7/20, 625 Main St., RIHM service employee handed an officer a gray handbag that he had found in community room. There was no identification in same, and no valuables. Handbag has been secured at PSD.

7/30, hall, 560 Main St., Resident in-house surrendered to Duty Officer beeper with broken cover. Same was secured at PSD.

Graffiti

7/22, J-12,10,8,7,4,3,2, etc., 546 Main St., Officer saw graffiti at scene. RIHM notified.

Investigation

7/18, 546 Main St., Officer responded with NYPD officer to resident's apt. regarding her sister's concerned phone call from out of state, because resident is very ill. They were given access to apt. by RIHM, no one was in apt. Sister was advised to contact tenant's private doctor and health care service.

7/19, 580 Main St., Officer responded to scene, resident stated she had not seen her under-age son since the evening before; 911 was called. PSD officer saw youth in front of 2/4 River Road. Sgt. escorted youth home, the latter was not injured and stated he was at a friend's house. NYPD responded. Youth referred to PSD Y.O.

7/20, 540 Main St., An alarm company phoned PSD re burglar alarm sounding at apt. Officer responded, there were no signs of forced entry, damage to door or lock. Alarm company was called and dispatcher stated they were no longer receiving indication of alarm, nor were there sensors activated.

7/22, street, 900 Main St., While patrolling, officer observed three boulders in rear of Coler Hospital which appeared to have been pushed by a vehicle, since officer saw mud tracks on ground. No visible damage was observed. Officer spoke with Coler Hospital police officer, who stated he did not know of any large truck deliveries, nor was there any claim of vehicle damage. RIOC maintenance supervisor notified and instructed to have boulders returned to their original place.

7/22, west seawall, 4 River Rd., off-Island, Officer saw FDNY on Island with lights flashing and alarm going. Officer spoke with NYPD officer, who informed him that a call had gone in for boat collision near Astoria. Harbor unit was in west seawall area but search was negative. There had been no boat collision.

7/30, school, 506 Main St., Officers responded to scene for unsecured premises. Reporter stated she had left school in order on 7/26. Upon returning she saw light was on. Officers searched exterior/interior with negative results. NYPD refused.

7/31, 560 Main St., Resident in-house, said she'd returned to apt., opened apt. door and heard someone open the door; but did not see the person and nothing was missing. Officer responded, did not see any signs of tampering on the lock, searched area with negative results. NYPD refused.

Lost property

7/24, rear of Chapel, 543 Main St., Resident in-house with under-age son. Former stated his son had left his bicycle (valued at $55) unattended for approx. 30 minutes. Upon returning it was missing. Officers searched area with negative results.

7/31, Thrift Shop, 520 Main St., Officers responded to 531 lobby, resident stated through translator that she dropped change purse in which she had $3-$4 and some keys. Officers searched area with negative results.

Missing property

7/28, laundry, 12, 546 Main St., Resident in-house, said she'd placed laundry in dryer, upon returning, laundry consisting of misc. bedding, was missing. Area was searched with negative results. RIHM was notified. NYPD responded, report will be prepared.

Noise complaint

7/18, 625 Main St., Cross Complaint, Officer responded to Complainant #1's apt. who reported loud music, banging on walls, he claimed banging was intentional. Complainant #2 in-house denying banging on walls and stating music is never loud and requesting access to records, as well as stating he would file harassment complaint at RIHM.

Property damage

7/28, bike room, 540 Main St., Resident in-house, said his bicycle was vandalized while stored at scene. Officer did not see forced entry. Further investigation revealed victim had an unauthorized key to bicycle room, which he had been seen entering by another Officer. Victim was referred to RIHM.

Reckless endangerment

7/20, #713, 555 Main St., Resident reported that an object was thrown from apt. window. RIHM general manager informed and identified the apt. Officers responded to apt., spoke to under- age youth and asked him about the object that was thrown. He denied any knowledge of same. Officers spoke with under-age female youth, who was baby-sitting for two-year-old boy, who was throwing objects out of window. PSD Youth Officer advised female youth that she had to watch and monitor the two-year-old closely.

7/23, courtyard, 560 Main St., Resident informed officer that, while walking with his under-age daughter, unknown person had thrown a wood hanger out of a 4th floor window, while shouting an obscenity. Officer searched the 560/580 4th floor with negative results. No injuries were incurred.

7/30, breezeway, 510 Main St., Officer responded to scene for report of persons throwing glass. Officer saw broken vase on ground. Officer conducted search with negative results.

7/31, east seawall, 576 Main St., Resident and under-age youth in-house, former said child was riding bicycle when an automobile sped down nearly hitting her. Officer responded, vehicle was gone on arrival.

Smoke condition

7/30, 546 Main St., Officers responded to Sr. Center for report of smoke, found smoke emanating from A/C-Heating unit, which they turned off. RIHM personnel responded, turned off circuit breaker, opened window, smoke subsided. No injuries were incurred.

Unsecured area

7/30, apt. door, 595 Main St., Officer responded to apt. where resident stated front door had been found open. Tenant said she'd checked the premises, all was in order, nothing missing at the time. Resident stated she has a room mate who could have left door open accidentally. Tenant did not have phone for her.

Vehicle accident

7/19, exit ramp, 686 Main St., PSD officers at scene of vehicle accident. Resident driver stated that while leaving island, another vehicle, at present unidentified was going down ramp in her lane and upon swerving to avoid collision, she lost control of her vehicle and hit dividing device and support beam. NYPD responded, prepared report. EMS responded, transported driver and passengers to Mt. Sinai. Resident's vehicle was towed to Motorgate.

7/25, front of Post Office, 694 Main St., Officer arrived at scene to find vehicles facing northbound - the car appeared to have driven into front part of the bus. There were no other passengers in either vehicle, no injuries were incurred, NYPD, EMS were refused. Driver of car was given two summonses, one for expired inspection, the other for unlicensed operation of vehicle. Both vehicles slightly damaged.

Verbal dispute

7/25, 563 Main St., Shop owner in-house, stated two vendors had been engaged in verbal dispute with him re credit problems. Upon arrival of PSD, the two vendors had left the store. Officer was able to obtain name, business address of one vendor. Both parties were referred to Civil Court.

7/25, front of PS217, 645 Main St., Officer saw under-age youth #1 chasing another under-age youth #2 shouting the latter had thrown empty soda bottle at him, striking him in face. Officers escorted youth #2 to PSD, released him due to not having complaint. Subsequently victim in-house to report incident, his mother in-house after being notified. NYPD, medical attention refused by victim's mother.

 

August 1-15

Assault

8/4, 560 Main St., Arrest, Officer responded to scene to assist another officer. Underage female victim, stated her sister had become violent during verbal dispute and had thrown two items at her, causing a bruise on left side of her face. Medical attention was refused. Perp was arrested and transported to 19th Pct., escorted to central booking which refused to process her, because of previous psychiatric treatment. Youth was taken to Mid-Town South for evaluation.

Robbery

8/7, Westview courtyard, 595-625 Main Street, Underage youth and mother in-house to report that three unknown underage youths and one (possibly identified underage youth) had knocked him off his bicycle and taken same. NYPD responded and spoke with youth #4 and mother and grandmother. Mother was uncooperative. NYPD prepared report.

Criminal mischief

8/2, hallway, 560 Main, Anonymous male resident informed officer he had noticed window broken and glass on floor at scene Officer observed window shattered by unknown object and searched area with negative results. RIHM notified.

8/6, hall, 6th floor, 625 Main St., Officer responded to scene, where he observed a burn mark the size of a half dollar on ceiling. Officer checked area with negative results. Concierge advised.

8/11, laundry, LL, 575 Main St., Officer responded to scene for shattered glass door at scene, searched area with negative results. RIHM personnel taped up door.

8/12, new section, Motorgate, 688 Main St., Officers responded to scene, saw one exit sign almost completely torn off wall , which they removed completely. They searched area with negative results.

8/13, patio, 580 Main St., While patrolling, officer noticed smashed patio gate. He notified victim, who stated that that was the second time it had occurred during this week. Officer searched area with negative results.

8/13, patio, 580 Main St., Resident informed officer that three outer wooden terrace boards were missing from fence. RIHM notified. Officer searched area with negative results.

8/14, patio, 580 Main St., Resident informed officer that one wooden board was removed from his fence. Officer said all lights were broken and/or cracked. RIHM super was notified. NYPD refused. Area was searched with negative results.

8/14, patio, 580 Main St., Officer responded to scene, found five wood boards on sidewalk and grass near patio area. Ten minutes prior to incident, officer had seen area in order.

Disorderly conduct

8/14, sidewalk, 552 Main St., Arrest, Perp was ordered to leave PSD office, after becoming irate and using foul language. Perp went outside and continued same behavior, approaching officer as if he was ready to hit him. He was placed in custody, issued a "C" summons and released.

Harassment

8/9, elevator, 3rd floor, 546 Main St., Non-resident female in-house, stated resident female senior harasses her and requested a NYPD report be written. Victim used to be home attendant of the latter.

8/9, elevator, 580 Main St., Officers dispatched to 560, 4th floor, in search of male who according to mother of underage child, who was in-house, had allegedly touched child's face. Even after she had screamed at him not to do so. Officers did not locate perp. On 8/10, perp. was located and brought in-house, see further explanation, under Investigation.

8/12, elevator, 4 River Rd., Female non-resident in-house, said husband had slapped her during verbal dispute in elevator. She was not injured. NYPD responded, officer prepared domestic incident report.

8/15, 560 Main St., (Aggravated), Female resident in-house, said male perp phoned her apartment claiming her daughter (who lives off Island with aunt) owes him money and he threatened her. NYPD refused.

Larceny

8/13, patio, 576 Main St., Officer responded to scene, victim said that three (with rims valued at $500) bicycles were missing from the patio. NYPD responded, officer checked patio gate and door, which were in order. Victim said patio door had been locked.

8/15, laundry room, 576 Main Street, RIHM super informed officer storage room in laundry room had been broken into and two cans of carpet cleaning solution (valued at $50) were missing. NYPD refused. Master lock on storage room had been broken.

Fire

8/5, Lighthouse Park, 801 Main St., (Trash can), Anonymous female informed officer on motor patrol there was a fire in a trash can at scene. Other units arrived and extinguished the fire.

8/5, 580 Main St., (Electrical), Female resident phoned PSD, said there was fire emanating from wall. Officers responded, there were burn marks on wall surrounding socket. Tenant stated that electricity went out. She tried to cut the breaker with negative results. RIHM super responded, shut down all electricity.

8/6, Lighthouse Park, 801 Main St., (Trash cans), Officer responded to scene, where he saw trash cans burning, extinguished fire. No other damage was noticed in area.

8/8, dock area, 400 Main St., Anonymous male informed officer of a fire at scene. Officer observed wood trash can on fire, contacted Duty Officer, other officers responded, extinguished fire. RIOC supervisor notified. No injuries were incurred.

8/10, 30 River Rd., In early morning hours, officer noticed flames coming from balcony at scene. Various officers responded to scene, removed all occupants of apartment and notified 911, which responded, extinguished fire. Fire was caused by burning grill on balcony. It caused smoke damage to balcony, bicycle sustained fire damage. All persons declined medical attention. At 11:15 a.m., officers returned to apartment, interviewed youth who had underage youths under his care, who were using grill. Patio had been cleaned up, grill thrown out.

Dispute

8/4, Blackwell Park, 500 Main St., Officers responded to scene of two underage youths fighting. They were brought to PSD, parents/guardians notified. Both youths issued Juvenile Reports, released to mother/guardian respectively, both refused EMS.

DWI

8/11, turn-around, 10 River Rd., Arrest, Officers responded to scene of vehicle accident, saw non-resident male in front of car bleeding from face. Officer noticed strong odor of alcohol on perp's breath/clothes. Female passenger sustained major head injuries, EMS responded, transported victim to Elmhurst Hosp. PSD officer arrested perp and transported him to Elmhurst Hosp., where he refused treatment and chemical test analysis, he was taken by PSD officers to 19th Pct. for processing and thereafter to central booking, where he complained about injuries, was transported to Bellevue Hosp., where he again refused treatment and was taken to central booking. Two witnesses stated that perp was driving south-bound at a high rate of speed before accident, before crashing into pillar and parked vehicle.

Escort

8/6, 560 Main Street, Resident female requested escort to mother's apartment to retrieve clothing. Escort was conducted due to youth's arrest on 8/4. Perp left to stay with aunt in the Bronx. Escort was conducted without incidents of any kind.

8/7, sidewalk, 500 Main St., Officers responded to scene for report of man lying on sidewalk, who stated he had had too many drinks and wanted to lie down. Officers escorted victim to Goldwater Hospital, released him to Goldwater police.

Graffiti

8/6, front of 510 Main Street, Officer observed graffiti at scene.

Illegal move-out

8/12, 595 Main St., RIHM Manager at scene informed officers, resident and illegal tenant were illegally carrying out a bed, about which she informed them. RIHM super also at scene.

Investigation

8/5, west seawall, 10-2/4 River Rd., Officer responded to victim's apartment for call of attempted robbery. Victim identified alleged two male perps (residents), who were soon after picked up by PSD. Alleged victim stated he'd been approached by first perp, asking for a cigarette. Upon stating he did not have any, perp allegedly stated he could have robbed him. Victim called PSD on cellular, etc. NYPD responded to PSD, officer explained to victim that, according to the law, matter could not be pursued further, because there were no witnesses to verbal exchange. Reporter said the man accompanying the alleged perp was not involved in incident. The alleged perp was warned and admonished and released.

8/6, courtyard, 555 Main St., Concierge phoned PSD, stated two male youths were attempting to set a bench on fire. Officers responded, saw that one bench had paper debris on same, with burn marks. Concierge identified two non-resident underage youths, who were in courtyard. He, however, could not identify them, nor did either have matches or a lighter. Youths were released. RIHM super notified.

8/7, 531 Main Street, Female in-house stated unknown person had taken her jewelry. Officer responded, did not find signs of forced entry or tampering. Officer spoke with concierge, who said victim has Alzheimer's. Complainant said no one has access to apartment Senior case worker notified.

8/7, front of 2/4 River Road, Resident in-house stated that when another male resident approaches him, he feels threatened. A report was filed previously (on-going), apparently emanating from the victim's dogs. NYPD refused.

8/7, Motorgate, 688 Main St., Officer informed M/G Asst. Mgr. that two vehicles had gained entry into garage with one access card. Officer could not stop car nor obtain license number. Video tape will be held for investigation. Asst. Mgr. stated he spoke with customer, who said the car belonged to a friend, who apparently misunderstood him, and he does not feel his action was intentional and there was not theft of service.

8/10, street, 579 Main St., (Follow up of 8/9 harassment incident at 580 elevator involving underage youth.) Officer stopped perp. in relation to the afore-mentioned, he was brought in-house. He stated it was Korean custom to greet children by touching the face. Officer advised him not to touch children. Child's mother contacted, she stated she would go to 114th Pct.

8/13, east seawall, 200 Main St., off-Island, anonymous male informed patrolling officer of having seen an empty raft floating, but partially set along rocks. Officer confirmed it, 911 called, NYPD responded. Raft, which was not anchored, contained a vest and rope. FDNY (R.I), harbor and air patrol responded, searched for body, none was found. NYPD rescue responded, retrieved raft from water and posted an officer at scene and subsequently left scene with raft.

8/14, 510 Main St., Female in-house said neighbor has been tampering with her apartment's lock since 1996 and is on-going for 24 hours daily. Said it occurred again in the morning. When asked why she did not call PSD, replied PSD does not do anything. Complainant was irate and hostile. Further stated PSD is constantly following her.

Lost property

8/5, Main St. and Tram, Resident female in-house stated she had lost her wallet, which she had had before boarding RIOC bus toward her destination, the Tram. Upon trying to purchase groceries in Manhattan, she noticed her wallet was missing. Officer called tram and bus operators to report missing wallet with negative results. NYPD responding to victim's address. She said she had bank credit cards, driver's license, etc. unspecified amount of cash.

8/6, laundry, 556 Main St., Resident said he had left misc. laundry (valued at between $300 to $400) un-attended at scene. Upon his return it was not there. NYPD report refused. Officer conducted a search of area with negative results. RIHM notified.

8/9, Unknown Roosevelt Island male resident in-house, stated he had lost wallet containing several credit cards, etc., somewhere on Roosevelt Island. He said he would file a report at 114th Pct.

8/10, RIOC bus or Tram, Female in-house said she'd lost pocketbook either in RIOC bus (number unknown), or at tram, said it contained $800 in Amex travel cheques, $140 cash, several credit cards, etc. Neither bus driver(s), nor Tram personnel had had pocketbook returned to them. Victim stated she would go to 114th Pct.

Missing/recovery

8/1, 560 Main St., PSD and NYPD officers responded to apartment Resident female said she had not seen her daughter since the day before. NYPD officer suggested that she call her daughter's friends. Resident followed the advice and was informed her daughter had spent the night there. NYPD officer spoke with daughter and suggested she call her mother when she is not going home.

Property damage

8/1, lobby, 580 Main Street, Officer responded to scene for report of cracked glass door, that he confirmed, door stop was missing. Glass door cracked upon hitting wooden railing behind it. RIHM was notified, they taped up door.

Reckless endangerment

8/4, east seawall, 580 Main Street, Resident told officer that while walking at scene with her underage son, unknown person had thrown firecrackers from unknown window. Her son got scared, ran, fell down, sustaining very small cut on his toe. Parent refused EMS and NYPD. Officer searched area with negative results.

8/7, #LL-41, 625 Main St., PSD officers and RIHM supervisors responded to scene for possible fire. Upon arrival they saw two aerosol cans taped together in flames. Complainant stated they had come from an unknown upper apartment. Officers searched area, and discovered the apartment from which they had been thrown. They gained entry into apartment, underage youth admitted having thrown them out of window. No action was taken, awaiting Fire Marshal's arrival, who ordered the youth be issued a Juvenile Report and released to his parents.

8/13, patio, 580 Main Street, Officer responded to scene of trash being thrown into patio. Victim complained that perp from an apartment above (after 1« years), had again started throwing cigarette butts on to her patio. Officer saw numerous butts on patio, but did not interview alleged perp, because victim had not actually observed alleged perp. in action.

Recovered property

8/15 Sportspark Pool, 300 Main St., Male resident saw three male youths riding bicycles resembling his children's bicycles which had been stolen, he contacted officer. Officers went to Sportspark where bicycles were parked near pool. Youths were in pool, (114th Pct. Youth Officer had brought them to Roosevelt Island on 8/9 to join pool membership). Complainant's children were escorted to pool area, where they positively identified their property. Complainant had three receipts for bikes. Three non resident youths who were in possession of the bikes stated a male approached them on 8/14, asked them if they wanted to buy three bikes for $25 each. He took them to Motorgate (handicap section) where they paid for the bikes and left Roosevelt Island. Youths were admonished not to purchase property on the street. Complainant refused to press charges, bikes were returned to him. NYPD Youth Officer will be asked by PSD Youth Officer to verify whether or not the three youths have summer jobs, which would enable them to have purchased said bicycles.

Smoke alarm

8/1, 4th floor hall, 560 Main Street, Officer heard smoke alarm sounding at scene, searched area with negative results, notified RIHM whose employees (2) responded, investigated the situation. Alarm stopped sounding.

8/4, 4th floor, 580 Main Street, Officer responded for report of smoke alarm sounding at scene. Upon arrival, he saw tenant in front of apartment who stated unknown person had set off firecrackers, causing smoke alarm to sound. Officer did see firecracker debris on floor. Officer searched area with negative results, spoke with FDNY personnel, who only supplied his number. Reporter stated he'd seen youths running from scene at time alarm sounded.

Unsecured premises

8/5, outer door, 501 Main Street, Anonymous male in-house, reported outer door at scene was unsecured. Officers responded, found three inner offices locked and secured. Concierge gave officers key to premises, officer checked door again and secured premises.

8/9, rear door, 591 Main St., Officer observed RIOC's rear door open, several officers searched interior, all appeared to be in order. Rear door's bottom latch was not locked. Door secured.

Vehicle accident/aided

8/11, rear of Goldwater, 200 Main St., Female non resident informed officer she was pulling out of Goldwater lot when unknown youth on bicycle came towards her car, she swerved in order not to strike the youth and smashed into the wall. EMS transported her to Mt. Sinai for observation.

8/11, west roadway, 300 Main St., Officers and Tram supervisor responded to scene of RIOC bus #1 involved in accident, they found bus completely off the road, stopped at west seawall fence and driver outside the bus. He stated he'd put bus in neutral with parking brake on, was going to bathroom, reached platform and saw bus rolling backwards, ran after it, but was too late. Bus took out one section of guard rail, rolled down small hill and came to rest against West seawall fence; 911 was called, PSD Director, Deputy, Lt., RIOC Engineer, Maintenance Supervisor, FDNY, NYPD responded to scene. Driver was transported to Mt. Sinai for observation. Bus, which sustained small damage, was towed off-Island. West seawall sustained some damage, grass was torn up.

Verbal dispute

8/7, 546 Main Street, Resident phoned PSD, reported having had dispute with female (no known address) who had been staying at her apartment for a few days and who refused to leave. Officer mediated the situation and the latter agreed to leave.

Water leak

8/9, Public Safety Department, 552 Main St., Sgt. observed water leaking from ceiling. RIHM super responded, entered apt with officer from where leak was emanating. Tenant not at home, repairs to be made at later date. Door secured.

Criminal mischief

8/22 apartment window, 555 Main St., Reporter stated he had observed a group of youths throwing rocks at listed building, causing window to break and fleeing the scene. Reporter was unable to give further description. PSD conducted a search of area with negative results. No injuries reported, window repaired by RIHM.

8/23, street, 4 River Road, Reporter stated that while leaving the Island, unknown person(s) threw unknown object at the passenger-side window, causing it to shatter. Search of area conducted with negative results. NYPD notified/report filed.

8/23, dwelling, 540 main St., PSD officer while on patrol observed a shattered window, search of area conducted with negative results, RIHM personnel notified.

8/26, Southgate, 200 Main St., Officer observed walk-through gate had been knocked off its hinges at scene. Large motorized gate was partially open and power had been turned off. Officer reactivated motorized gate, searched interior of Southgate area for unauthorized personnel with negative results. To be followed up by Deputy Director.

8/29, F stairwell, 540 Main St., RIHM super in-house, said he'd seen graffiti at scene. Officer responded, confirmed same, took pictures, searched area with negative results. Area to be monitored more frequently, info to be passed to other tours.

8/31, Blackwell House, 500 Main St., Officer saw under-age youth throw rock at window of Blackwell House, thus shattering it. He was escorted to PSD's Youth Office. He was issued a Juvenile Report. Parent responded, youth released to mother.

Harassment

8/18, 7th fl elevator, 560 Main St., Complainant stated that while at location perp threaten to cause injuries because the perp's girlfriend does not like complainant.

8/18, street, 4 River Road, Reporter stated that a male youth had stuck his middle finger up at her daughter, who is also a minor. Incident referred to Youth Officer.

8/28, 532 Main St., Female resident in-house, said she had heard someone screaming at her, which annoyed her and that she had then heard a popping sound that alarmed her, although she did not see any perps. No injuries were reported. Victim was with a group conducting a reading at Amphitheater. Sergeant ordered area to be checked more frequently.

8/29, patio, 580 Main St., Female resident phoned PSD, said resident in 7 floor apartment has possibly been throwing cigarette butts and food containers onto her patio for the past two months. She also stated she had spoken to RIHM Mgr. about the situation and it had stopped, but now it has resumed.

Larceny

8/18, Park, 875 Main St., Complainant stated that while engaged in a soccer game he noticed three youth approach the field near the soccer players' belongings, but did not see any of the youths remove any property. After the game he went to retrieve his property and realized that it was missing. A search was conducted with negative results. Victim refused NYPD.

Fire

8/17, sidewalk, 875 Main St., trash can, Anonymous caller advised PSD of fire. PSD responded/FDNY at scene. Rubbish fire extinguished, no injuries.

8/30, hall, 540 Main St., Resident phoned PSD, gave name and address, but not condition, because she could not speak English. However, she had extinguished small paper fire in hall window. Officer responded, observed no damage.

Trespass

8/21, dwelling, 580 Main St., Arrest, RIHM Personnel reported unauthorized person(s) in vacant apt at location. PSD responded and observed five individuals sleeping inside premises without permission or authority. All persons were placed in custody. While conducting search, officer did find numerous bags containing what appeared to be marijuana in a blue knapsack. The individual who claimed ownership for a blue knapsack was placed under arrest. The other four were issued þCþ summons for trespass.

Other

8/26, Faulty alarm, Chapel, 543 Main St., A female member of religious order approached officer, stated she had heard alarm sounding upon entering premises. Officers responded, conducted search of premises, discovered alarm #4 sounding in Chapel's basement. PSD tried to contact RIOC supervisory personnel with negative results.

8/30, east seawall, 750 Main St., off-Island, Officer responded to east seawall for report of boat in distress in East Channel. NYPD at scene. NYPD spoke with male in boat, who continued his journey.

8/19, PSD office, 552 Main St., Individual from previous complaint entered PSD in a hostile and irate manner inquiring about incident he had reported earlier, in which he refused NYPD report. At this time he requested NYPD response. Duty Officer contacted 911 to respond to his apartment. Individual appeared to be intoxicated.

8/20, courtyard, 555 Main St., Two minors engaged in a dispute, parents contacted and resolved by same.

8/20, courtyard, 543 Main St., Anonymous male returned to PSD a wallet, Officer attempted to contact the owner, but unsuccessful. Wallet placed in Sergeant Closet for safekeeping.

8/20, bench, 560 Main St., Officer on Patrol found wallet containing keys and several coins. No ID, wallet secured in Sergeant Closet.

8/21, bench, 500 Main St., Anonymous Male returned a Super Nintendo game cartridge he found at location. Reporter refused to give further information. Item secured in Sergeant Closet.

8/23, lobby, 546 Main St., Reporter returned a burgundy-color folder which contained various papers, no ID found. Item placed in Sergeant closet for safekeeping.

8/24, sidewalk, 543 Main st., Reporter stated he had found a bag containing several baby items and a Manhattan Park ID card. Reporter further stated that he attempted to contact owner was informed by Manhattan Park concierge that individual was on vacation. Bag was placed in Sergeant closet for safekeeping.

8/24, street, 619 Main St., Anonymous person returned a Citibank Master Card he stated he found at location. Officer contacted Citibank Customer Service and was advised by Representative to dispose of the card since the account is no longer active.

8/24, Tram cabin, 300 Main St., Reporter returned a deposit slip found at location. PSD Sergeant unable to locate owner, therefore placed slip in Sergeant closet for safekeeping.

8/24, street, 580 Main St., Officer on patrol found a damaged bicycle on top of bushes at listed location. Owner did report to PSD and retrieved said bike.

8/29, sidewalk, Unknown, Anonymous male in-house turned in a U.S. passport. He was Asian, could not speak English, could not obtain his information. The passport belongs to female resident, who subsequently retrieved same at PSD.

8/30, street, 510 Main St., Resident in-house, surrendered a coin purse, which did not have any identification, contents four keys and $4.00 in currency. Purse secured at PSD.

8/31, street, 579 Main St., RIOC bus driver (bus #2) found purse containing $4.78 in currency and Chase credit card, as well as other miscellaneous cards. Owner of purse in house, retrieved and signed for property.

8/17, stairwell B-3, 2nd landing, 575 Main St., Officer noticed graffiti at scene.

8/26, N 7, O 7, 560 Main St., Officer saw graffiti at scene.

8/26 F lower exit, 540 Main St., Officer observed graffiti at scene.

8/26, front of 30 River Rd., Concierge stated she noticed glass doors in front of building shattered from top to bottom and stated as well there was no one in the area and no evidence of any objects having been thrown at door. Super at scene. Other officers responded, searched area for objects and/or perps with negative results.

8/26, south of Goldwater, 200 Main St., Resident informed officer of a dead crow at scene. Officer responded, confirmed condition. The bird was contained, sealed in a box and safeguarded at PSD. Notified Dept. of Health's W. Nile Virus Hot Line, left pertinent information on automated reporting system, which advised PSD would be contacted within 24 hours. At 2:45 pm, RIOC grounds employee, reported finding another dead crow at Octagon Park. That bird was contained in the same manner as the first bird. Health Dept. representative called, stated they would respond ASAP. If we PSD did not receive response by five pm, Aug. 27, the crows should be disposed of. Officer contacted Health Dept. representative, who stated the birds were no physical threat, that it is just a means of their tracking where the virus is located. Director fry advised PSD not to dispose of the birds and that health dept. Must send their personnel to retrieve the birds. Health Dept. employee stated they would make pickup a priority but could still not offer an estimated time of arrival.

8/17, 580 Main St., Female complainant stated that various objects are being thrown into her patio. She also stated that a lit cigarette fell on top of her daughter's head. No injuries sustained.

8/19, Gristede's, 686 Main St., Complainant stated that the supermarket manager threatened his life, after he showed him an outdated item. Manager stated that the complainant entered the store and shoved a can of beans in his face, stating the can was outdated. Both parties refused NYPD report, complainant left the store without further incident.

8/21, 13th floor hall, 580 Main St., Anonymous female reported a smell of gas at location. PSD / RIHM service personnel responded. A door-to-door search was conducted for possible gas leak with negative results. Area was aired out.

8/22, east seawall, 580 Main St., A heavily intoxicated male stated to Officer that he was approached by approximately four males at listed location and they attempted to assault him. Alleged victim was unable to give description. A search was conducted with negative results.

8/29, street, 505 Main St., Female resident stopped officer to report unknown perp driving a vehicle with commercial license, who had threatened to damage her car if she did not relinquish parking space to him to make delivery. Woman left her car parked. Upon returning she noticed a nail under tire on front driver's side. There were no witnesses.

8/18, RIOC Bus, Reporter stated that her granddaughter left her toy laptop (V-Tech) on the red bus. A search was conducted with neg results.

8/23, street, 688 Main St., Reporter ( brother) stated that his elderly sister was missing. Several searches were conducted during the evening, flyers were distributed, NYPD notified. A Tram video revealed that the missing person was last seen leaving the Manhattan side of Tram. A poster/picture was faxed to the 19th Pct. for distribution.

8/17, 4 River Road, Security officer at location requested PSD response due to numerous noise complaints of loud music. PSD spoke with tenant, condition corrected.

8/30, Queensboro Br., 59th St. and Second Ave., off-Island, Anonymous male (information obtained from Scanner), reported male acting in a manner making reporter think he might jump. NYPD responded, questioned man, who resumed walking across bridge.

8/28, playground, 20 River Rd., Resident male informed officer he'd left his bicycle unsecured at scene and that same had been removed by under-age youth. Complainant pointed out the youth, who was in bicycle's possession. Youth was escorted to PSD's Y.O.'s office, issued a Juvenile Report and released to his mother. Bicycle was returned to owner.

8/20, RIOC bus, 688 Main St., Driver (bus #8) stated to officer that the upper glass panel on the entrance door had been shattered. Driver did not observe any person or object that might have caused damage.

8/21, rear lobby, 560 Main St., PSD officer on patrol observed the rear-door glass damaged. Search of area conducted with negative results.

8/23, Lobby, 546 Main St., Officer responded to location and found the glass on door cracked. RIHM service person taped glass to keep it in place. No injuries reported.

Reckless endangerment

8/18, courtyard, 575 Main St., PSD Sgt responded to location and observed shattered water balloons, also observed two youths looking out from window, who attempted to hide. The Sergeant responded to the apt and spoke with the parent and the two youths who admitted throwing the water balloons out the window. Youths were warned and admonished. No injuries / property damage.

8/26, Christian School, 506 Main St., Female resident in- house, said unknown person had thrown a large rock from Christian school nearly hitting her. Complainant was not injured, refused any assistance. Officers searched area with negative results.

8/27, patio, 560 Main St., Complainant stated to officer that unknown person is throwing disgusting trash and drug paraphernalia onto tenant's patio and stated that it has been occurring for approximately two months. Resident said it appears to emanate from an apartment above.

8/29, sidewalk, 510 Main St., Female resident in-house, reported water bottle had been thrown from above, almost striking her. Officer searched 510 / 4th and 7th floors with negative results. Victim refused EMS, NYPD.

Smoke condition

8/20, dwelling, 536 Main St., Anonymous female reported a possible fire at location. PSD responded and found the hallway filled with smoke. A search for apt was conducted, tenant was at home, he stated that he had left a pot on stove and forgot about it. Condition was corrected, no injuries / property damage to report.

8/30 apartment, 595 Main St., Officer dispatched to resident's apartment, saw RIHM employee knocking on door, lots of smoke emanating from apartment, obtained no reply, opened door, chain in place. Finally tenant opened door. He said he'd burned a pot and had extinguished fire. Kitchen cabinet damaged.

Vehicle accident/ aided

8/23, east roadway, 400 Main St., Officer reported that while driving vehicle #3, vehicle was struck by a cement garbage can which had rolled off the curb after being knocked over by a grounds Employee, while he mowed the grass on a sit-down lawn mower. The damage was a minor dent located at the bottom part of the driver's side door. No injuries reported.

Verbal dispute

8/19, Bakery, 546« Main St., Bakery owner and patron engaged in a verbal dispute regarding possibly faulty merchandise. Condition resolved. NYPD refused.

8/30, sidewalk, 2/4 River Rd., Officer responded to scene where several officers were already there. Male victim said he has had a continuing incident with an alleged non-resident male and had requested NYPD, which arrived and prepared report. Both complainant and other man separated and left scene.

8/31, RIOC bus #1, Main Street, Cross complaint, Resident female in house, registered complaint against RIOC bus driver . Witness (residentmale) to dispute also present. Victim #1 stated bus driver had used profane language towards her, victim #2 stated the same. Dispute emanated from the fact the woman was blocking the front aisle with large stroller, etc. Profane language ensued from both parties. Witness said the woman initiated the dispute by becoming irate, confirming bus driver's version of incident.

Water leak

8/26, 555 Main St., Officer responded to scene, RIHM super at location, informed him there was leak emanating from apartment, resident not at home, spare keys not working and lock had to be drilled. Leak was coming from bath tub, leak stopped. Complete repairs will be done when tenant at home. Apartment locked and secured.

8/31, PSD, 552 Main St., Desk Officer noticed water leaking from ceiling. RIHM service notified, supervisor responded, traced leak to apartment on third floor - overflowing tub; fixed leak, water on PSD's floor mopped up by RIHM employee.

 

Sept 1-17, 2000

Robbery

9/15, wsw, 531 Main St., Male resident in-house, stated two unk youths had approached him @ scene, #1 possibly w/ weapon, while #2 attacked him from behind. He could not identify perps. They fled scene w/ victimþs shoulder bag containing $200, house & car keys, 4 credit cards & misc. other items. Victim notified NYPD before coming to PSD, NYPD responded, prepared report. RIHM super changed locks @ victimþs apt.

Criminal mischief

9/3, lobby, 580 Main St., Officer noticed that glass in lobby was cracked. RIHM condition report was written.

9/6, hall, 560 Main St., Officer was dispatched to scene for broken window; upon arrival confirmed shattered window. RIHM super notified, employee cleaned up glass debris & taped up window. Officer found blood on wall near elevator, searched area w/ negative results.

9/8, patio, 625 Main St., Officer responded to scene, upon arrival victim identified resident underage youth as being the person who had loosened board from fence w/ a bat & had then dropped same. Officer placed board back on fence. Area searched for additional damage to fence, board found broken @ another rear patio. Youthþs mother notified of incident.

9/11, basement, 575 Main, RIHM employee informed officer that a dryerþs coin slot had been pulled out of casing in laundry room. There was still money in it. Officers conducted search of area w/ negative results. Super responded, locked & secured door.

Harassment

9/4, 4 River Rd., Female youth phoned PSD, stated she & another female youth had been in dispute. Officers responded, upon arrival both parties were in physical altercation. NYPD responded, prepared report. EMS was refused by both youths.

9/3, street, 2/4/ River Rd., Female youth informed officer, male underage youth has been harassing her verbally. Victimþs aunt said she did not want PSD involved.

9/5, street. 625 Main St., US Postal Service supervisor in- house, stated she & letter carrier had been approached in threatening manner by unk resident. Upon victim #1 identifying herself, the perp threatened her by shaking his hand in front of her face & using foul language at her. He was upset because packages were not delivered to his apt. PSD officer escorted victims to P.O. Perp was not seen again.

9/8, lobby, 2/4 River Rd., VERBAL, Security guard @ scene phoned PSD, stated she had seen resident female walking dog w/ another person in lobby. Security guard explained dogs were not allowed in bldg. & perp told her to mind her business, that dog was not going to her apt. Perp also stated sheþd wait for her to get off duty, threatening her with physical injury. NYPD responded, prepared report.

9/10, wsw, 10 River Rd., Resident phoned PSD, said he had been harassed by resident male @ scene, who was banging a pipe on ground while walking behind him. Officer did not see a pipe, but warned perp to stay away from victim, who requested NYPD, who responded but did not prepare a report.

9/13, lobby, 580 Main St., Resident female in-house, stated neighborþs girlfriend her with bodily harm. Victim believes perp is girlfriend of neighbor who had been evicted because of her & other neighborsþ complaints.

Larceny

9/15, 560 Main St., RIHM super in-house, said washers #1,2,3,4 @ 3 fl. laundry were broken into. The coin slots & coins were missing. Officer checked area no forced entry seen. Laundry room locked & secured for repairs.

9/16, 875 Main St., Non-resident in-house, stated he & 2 friends were playing soccer @ Octagon & unk person had taken their bags w/ equipment & 1 cellular phone & keys. Officer searched island w/ negative results. On 9/17 officer found the 3 bags in Octagon Park ladiesþ room. Officer left message for victim/reporter.

9/17, patio, 546 Main St., Resident in-house, said his bicycle (valued @ $50) which heþd left locked @ scene, was missing. Officer saw that lock had been cut.

Fire

9/1, 1 level, 688 Main St., Gristedeþs employee informed officer of fire at rear of Motorgate. Officers responded extinguished a small trash fire in receptacle.

9/4, 900 Main St., Coler hospital police informed officer that unk person had thrown charcoal briquettes into garbage container while still lit, causing trash fire in same. PSD officer assisted in extinguishing fire. There were no injuries.

9/12, esw, 580 Main St., Anonymous male in-house, reported a small fire in trash can. Officers responded, extinguished same. There was no property damage other than the plastic trash can. Area was searched for perps w/ negative results.

9/13, 694 Main St., Officer responded to fire alarm @ Post Office. Notified FDNY responded, gained entry by breaking lock of front door. U S Postal Police notified, responded & secured door & remained @ scene until lock could be replaced.

Dispute

9/6, 560 Main St., (VERBAL), Resident female phoned PSD requesting officer. Officers responded to apt. Male & female were arguing over money in bank account. Both parties referred to Civil Court.

9/7, street, 645 Main St., (VERBAL), Two non residents were engaged in verbal dispute over a vehicleþs registration. After speaking with both parties, they agreed to meet off island to change license plate.

9/4, hall, 560 Main St., (DOMESTIC), Male resident in-house, stated female non resident attacked him w/ tennis racquet & had stolen his bag w/ $90 in it. NYPD responded, prepared domestic dispute report, victim refused to press charges.

9/13, lobby, 560 Main St., (VERBAL), Female residents in- house, said ex-resident male approached her & her friend using foul language, then walked away. NYPD refused. Officer searched area for perp w/ negative results.

9/13, library, 526 Main St., (VERBAL), Library employee phoned PSD, requesting officer to escort youth from library, because he was speaking loudly & refused to stop doing so. Officer spoke w/ youth & the latter left library.

9/15, sidew., 570 Main St., (VERBAL), Anon. female informed officer there was a dispute @ location. Officer observed large group of youths @ scene, advised central, other officers responded. Upon their arrival, the crowd dispersed. Both youths refused NYPD, EMS & agreed to stay away from one another.

Escaped patient

9/6, street, 510 Main St., NYPD detective asked PSD officer for assistance @ a transit access bus. Other PSD officers responded as well. Detective stopped bus, while PSD officers blocked its path. Patient had escaped from Coler and was escorted back by detective.

Flood

9/12, #806, 546 Main St., RIHM supervisor in-house, said there was flood @ scene. Officer responded & found employees cleaning up water. RIHM super @ scene w/ spare key, since tenant not at home. Door secured.

9/13, #517, 546 Main St., Officer responded to scene for leaking water in bathroom. Toilet was backed up. RIHM supervisor responded, corrected situation. There was no damage to property.

Found property

9/3, 300 Main St., RIOC bus driver (Bus #8) radioed PSD, that a pager had been left in bus, officer retrieved same & it was secured @ PSD.

9/4, sidew, Main Street, Resident turned in @ PSD a bag containing $5.29 & several misc. items. It was secured @ PSD. Subsequently owner in-house to retrieve property & stated $40.00 was missing.

9/11, bus #2, 552 Main St., RIOC bus driver informed officer a purse containing $201 bills, $34.30 in coins, & misc. items had been left on his bus. He turned it over to officer. An officer went to ownerþs address and returned the purse.

9/11, street, 543 Main St., Officer found check book and $160. Check book had ownerþs address, officer went to his resident, returned property.

9/17, wsw, 645 Main St., Resident informed officer heþd found womanþs yellow colored watch, which he turned in to D.O. Watch was secured @ PSD.

Investigation

9/1, 540 Main St., Female phoned PSD, said she had not heard from grandmother & was worried. Officer responded to scene, knocked several times, no reply. Officers & RIHM super @ scene, cylinder was removed. No one was in apt., temporary cylinder was installed, door secured. D.O. informed grand daughter no one was in apt.

9/2, f/o 559 Main St., Anon. male informed officer that Montaukþs door was jammed. PSD contacted owner who said she would respond and did, discovered top latch was causing door to jam, it was fixed. No damage was found.

9/2, 510 Main St., PSD & NYPD officers responded to scene of individual not being given access to apt. to feed her sonþs cat, while heþs on vacation. RIHM had had to enter apt., because of bad odor emanating from scene & had had to change lock. RIHM super relented, gave access to woman to retrieve cat from apt.

9/7, f/o 2/4 River Rd., Officers responded to scene for verbal dispute. Party #2 was found to be heavily intoxicated. There was a knife on ground, which was confiscated by Sgt. Party #1 stated he wanted party #2 arrested. Upon officersþ arrival, Party #1 informed him that Party #2 had displayed & brandished a knife. Party #2 pushed another person in officersþ presence & he was placed in custody. Subsequently Party #1 said he would not press charges, Party #2 stated he wished to place a cross complaint of harassment. Incident is under investigation.

9/12, R. I. Community Bulletin Boards, Resident in-house stated she had been helping put political posters on community bulletin boards & that unk person had been removing them. She had not seen who was doing it. Officer checked the community bulletin boards & some still remained. Reporter was going to 114 Pct.

9/13, f/o 400 Main St., Resident female in-house, registered complaint against RIOC bus driver, stating he had closed the door & driven off. She requested a Civilian Complaint report. Officer informed Bus Supervisor & was told name of alleged driver. Bus driver wrote statement, stating he had no knowledge of alleged incident.

9/14, M/G, 688 Main St., While officer was driving vehicle #3 and exiting M/G, Edison attendant released exit arm, which went up & then dropped on windshield of RMP #3, scratching the windshield.

9/16, 1 Tram Plaza, Central received phone call from Tram superv. who stated there was suspicious bag on sidewalk adj. to tram elevator. NYPD, 19 Pct. was otified.

Lost property

9/6, B Park, 500 Main St., Resident youth in-house with a scooter valued @ approx. $100, which he said had been left un-attended @ location. Subsequently, female in-house inquiring if a scooter had been found. She was given same.

9/7, UNK, R.I., Resident female informed officer she had lost change purse, that contained apt. keys, SS card, $2.50 in coins. Victim had been several places on island & on three red buses. Officer accompanied her, but did not find purse.

9/9, street, 543 Main St., Female under age female in-house, turned in wallet w/ US$40., credit cards, driverþs license, etc. that she had found. Subsequently owner retried wallet with full contents.

Missing person

9/4, 682 Main St., Officer saw missing person w/bicycle & knapsack in 4 level Atrium, positively identified him, notified central to contact Goldwater Hospital to pick up patient. Patient was calm & aware of surroundings. Hospital police transported him to GW.

9/5, 560 Main St., (FOUND), Female resident phoned PSD, said under age daughter was late arriving @ home. Officer found youth with friends @ r/o chapel, and was escorted home by officer.

Missing property

9/2, Gþs, 686 Main St., Under age male in-house, stated unk individual had removed his $100 bicycle from Gristedeþs. Officers searched area w/ negative results. Another officer found bicycle by cash register & returned same to youth.

9/4, 625 Main St., Female non resident in-house, stated she was speaking w/husband & when she left park her pocketbook containing $6.00 and keys was missing. Subsequently her husband surrendered purse @ PSD & owner retrieved it @ PSD.

9/15, 580 Main St., Non resident female in-house, said she had left leather bag in 4 floor hall, had gone into apt. & upon returning, the purse was gone. Officers searched area w/ negative results. NYPD was refused.

Order of protection

9/16, lobby, 625 Main St., Concierge requested response for order of protection. Officers complied, were informed that male had been buzzed in by concierge to 625. Tenant of 595 has order of protection against male w/ same last name as victim, who was ordered to stay away from victim.

Recovered property

9/16, f/o 400 Main St., RIOC employee radioed that while emptying trash can he had found a black shoulder bag. Officer responded & found credit cards & misc. items in bag. The owner of said bag was contacted. He had been the victim of a robbery on 9/15.

Recovered stolen property

9/13, st., 10 River Rd., Non resident male phoned PSD, reported his motorcycle, which he left w/key in ignition & running, had been stolen. Officer searched area, found cycle in bushes r/o 20 River Rd., turned it over to owner.

Reckless endangerment

9/15, 591 Main St., Officer responded to scene for report of potted plant having fallen from terrace & indeed found plant on steps, however, could not ascertain from what apt. it had fallen from. RIHM supervisors responded. Officer found remains of old potted plant on WSW.

Stolen property/petit larceny

9/3, street, 625 Main St., Employee of newspaper delivery truck in-house to report that 15 newspapers, valued @ approx. $15 had been removed from his truck. Vehicle was not damaged. NYPD refused. Officer searched area w/ negative results.

Stray cat

9/11, T 4, 580 Main St., RIHM super informed officer there was a stray cat @ scene w/no tag. Cat was secured & Animal Care representative picked up the cat which had been placed in a box.

Tenant dispute

9/6, 540 Main St., Upon receiving letter from RIHM pending legal action for illegal apt. subletting, tenant refused victim access to apt. Officers responded, spoke w/ lease holder, informed him he had to give victim access to apt. NYPD responded after condition corrected. Both parties referred to RIHM Court.

Urine in elev.

9/1, both, 580 Main St., Resident in-house, reported unk individuals constantly urinate in elevators. Resident was referred to RIHM.

Vehicle accident

9/2, 2/4 River Rd., Officer responded to scene. Non resident male driver (#1) said driver #2 failed to stop his car @ stop sign & struck his car. Car #21 sustained minor damage. No injuries were incurred, NYPD was refused.

9/3, 688 Main St., Officer discovered car w/extensive damage on sidewalk facing n/bound, having struck & damaged RIOC permit sign/concrete M/G pillar support. Non resident driver was in driverþs seat, complaining of pain in neck & chest. He stated heþd fallen asleep @ wheel. EMS responded, transported him to Mt. Sinai. NYPD responded, prepared report. Driver was not under influence of alcohol.

9/9, breezeway, 540 Main, PSD officer was driving Vehicle (RPM) #2 in breezeway, en route to M/G, and proceeded slowly past a van in breezeway of bldg. RMP cleared front of van, then heard rubbing sound, noticed vanþs left rear bumper on PSD vehicleþs right rear quarter panel. Officer inquired about driverþs health, he said he & his wife were all right and refused medical attention. RMP sustained several paint marks, van paint damaged. NYPD responded & prepared report.

Verbal dispute

9/3, courtyd, 543 Main St., Officer encountered two under age youths in a verbal dispute, he was informed that youth #2 had thrown a rock @ youth #1, narrowly missing him. Both were escorted to PSD, mother & uncle of respective youths responded and they were released.

Water leak

9/11, 516 Main St., RIHM super in-house, requested escort to apt. where there was a water leak & no answer at door. RIHM drilled lock & discovered overflowed toilet, corrected condition, door was secured.
