| Kids Rewarded for Good Deed | |

Christina and Julia Burnette found a yellow pouch containing money and important cards on Main
Street in June, turned it in to a Public Safety Officer, and on Wednesday of this week became the
first recipients of the new Public Safety Community Service Award. Christina, who couldnŝt be
present for the press conference, is pictured below; at right are her sisters, Julia and Katura
(who stood in). The award, presented by Residents Association President Patrick Stewart and
Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation President Robert Ryan, was a $100 savings-bond gift
certificate for each.
